Biography

Dr. A.K.Srivastava is Principal Scientist in the discipline of Soil Science at National Research Centre for Citrus at Nagpur , Maharashtra. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University in 1988. He has worked this Research Centre for 25 Years. He is having 25 Years of Experience in the field of Fruit Nutrition. His Area of Expertise includes: Nutrient Mapping , Nutrient modeling , Microbial transformations , Soil fertility decision support development , Fertigation, Site specific nutrient management etc. He is the author of 9 books including the book entitled ADAVANCES IN CITRUS NUTRITION by Springer-Verlag, The Netherlands. Recipient of 8 awards and fellow of 9 academic societies. Associate editor of Agronomy Journal , member of editorial board of Journal of Plant Nutrition , Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis and African Journal of Agricultural Research .

Dr. Mohammad Aslam Ansari is a Professor in the Department of Agriculture Communication, College of Agriculture at the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar-263145, Uttarakhand (India) He received his Ph. D. degree in Extension Education from IVRI, Izatnagar, Bareilly (U.P., India) in 1991 and earned his postdoctoral from Centre for Mass Communication Research, University of Leicester (U.K.). Then, he worked as a faculty member at Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (India); Allahabad Agriculture Institute Deemed University, Allahabad (India) and now currently at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar-263145, Uttarakhand (India) He is having 24 Years of Experience in the field of teaching, research and extension in Agriculture Communication & Extension. His Area of Expertise includes: ICT applications in Agriculture and Rural Development, Development Communication, Private Extension Systems, etc. He is the author of two book, five book chapters, and more than 50 research articles/ papers in refereed and reputed journals besides 20 popular articles in farm magazines; guided 20 Masters and 5 Ph. D. students. He is the recipient of Commonwealth Fellowship, Senior and Junior Research Fellowships from ICAR/ UNDP; a number of research and training Grants, Bioved Fellow awards (2007), etc.

Dr. Madhusweta Das is a faculty member in the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur - 721302, India. Dr. Madusweta Das has obtained B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry, Calcutta University, B. Tech. (Hons)(Gold Medal) in Food Tech. and Biochemical Engineering, M Tech. (GoldMedal) in Food Tech and Biochemical Engineering with specialization in Protein Technology, and Ph.D (Engineering) – all from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She is at present Associate Professor in the Food Process Engineering Discipline and teaches various subjects related to Food Engineering. Her broad area of research is Macromolecular Science and Engineering with specific area that covers biodegradable and edible films, functional foods, co- and byproducts from food wastes. She has secured one patent on starch-based edible film and three more patents have been filed. Dr. Das has published 41 research papers in different national and international peer reviewed journals. She has contributed four book chapters and presented 34 papers in different national and international conferences.

Dr.P.Guha is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Food Engineering at the University of IIT, Kharagpur (West Bengal, India). Dr. Guha possesses throughout first class academic records with BSc(Agri)(Hons), MSc(Agri)(Hons), DIIT(F.M.Tech) & a PhD degree. He has attained several extra-curricular achievements like University Football player & Athlete, NCC ‘C’ Certificate, NSS Program Officer etc. He received his Ph.D. degree in Agronomy from IIT, Kharagpur University during 1987 with Senior Research Fellowship of the ICAR, New Delhi and Merit scholarships for all other courses. He worked in several positions including Pool Officer/ scientist at IIT, Kharagpur since 1984 (Assistant Professor since 2007). He is having 34 and 19 Years of Experience in the field of Agronomy and Postharvest/Food Technology, respectively. His Research Areas include: Agronomy, Postharvest/Food Technology, Weed and Water management, Forest and Wasteland Management. He is super specialized in Betel Leaf Technology for which he has received several consultancies, projects, awards and honours. He has a patent on Betel leaf oil extractor. He has guided several B.Tech, M. Tech & PhD students at IIT, Kharagpur and published more than 50 research articles and chapter of a book. His work was referred by FAO and IRRI.

Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Suri, Former Vice-Chancellor, Chander Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology. He did his Ph.D. in Soil Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has served as the Head, Department of Soil Science at the CSK H.P. Agril. University at Palampur (HP). Earlier, he has also served as the Head, Agril. Technology Information Centre at the above university. Dr. Suri had the privilege to serve as Vice-Chancellor of C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur during 2006-08. Dr. Suri’s experience in agriculture spans more than 34 years out of which 22 years also involved administrative work. Professor Suri has worked extensively in the areas of enhancing fertilizer use efficiency of rainfed lands using organic manures, green manures and biofertilizers. He has developed blue green algae technology for rice farmers and mycorrhizal biofertilizer (AM fungi) biotechnology for maize, wheat, soybean, okra and pea crops. Further, he has also developed integrated nutrient management technologies for various rainfed crops covering cereals, oilseeds, pulses and vegetables. He also worked on formulation of judicious fertilizer recommendations for various crops based on soil test and yield targets. Prof. Suri has more than 250 publications to his credit. . Prof. V.K. Suri has been bestowed with more than 30 awards such as Crop Research Award, 1997, 20th Century Agril. Development National Award-2000, C.V. Kapur Educational Foundation Distinguished Teacher Award, 2002, Shiksha Rattan Puruskar-2007 & 2011, Dr. Lakhi Ram Memorial Award-2008, Excellence Award-2010, Bharat Jyoti Award-2011 & 2014 ,PAU Appreciation Award-2012, Gold Medal of India-2011, Best Citizen of India Award 2011& 2014, Shining Image of India Award-2011 & 12, Pride of India Award-2012, SAP-Gold Medal-2012 ,Mother Teresa Seva Rattan Award-2012, Gold Star Asia International Award-2013, Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru Gold Medal-2014, etc. by various bodies. He is a Fellow of 4 esteemed professional societies Prof. Suri is associated with many international/national/provincial scientific/cultural/academic/ educational bodies (38 apex bodies Dr. Suri is also serving on editorial advisory boards of many national and international journals, Dr. Suri has the distinction of being the first Indian scientist to be appointed as an Editor of the Communications in Soil Science & Plant Analysis, a high impact factor SCI rated journal published from USA. He has also made 22 invited/ keynote/ lead presentations at various forums. He has chaired / co-chaired 36 technical sessions at the national and global levels.. As Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Suri has about 46 significant achievements to his credit.

Prof. Gamal Khalil was born in Alexandria, Egypt at 09 March, 1953. He attended the Alexandria University and graduated in 1975 with B.Sc. Degree in Soil and Water Sciences. He was obtained a M.Sc. Degree in Soil Physics from Assiut University, Egypt in 1984. In 1991 He was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Soil Physics from Alexandria University, Egypt. He joined the Dept. of Soils and Agricultural Chemistry, Alexandria University, Egypt as Lecturer at 1991, Assistant Professor at 1996 and full Professor at 2002. He is specialize in soil physics & water management and involved in teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses in soil physics program (soil physics, advanced soil physics, applied soil physics, Environmental soil physics, Transport processes in soil environment, Pollutants transport in environment). His research interests are centered on fate and transport of pollutants in soil and groundwater, soil remediation with organic wastes and wastewater treatment. He has authored or co-authored of about 100 scientific publications in refereed journals. He is technical editor and associate editor of many international journals. He was supervisor of 28 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and contributed for 14 scientific projects. He regularly reviews papers for scientific journals as well as research proposals and projects for governmental agency. He was a member of Egyptian Universities Promotion Committees (EUPC)-Soil and Agricultural Engineering Committee.
