Biography

Dr. Priyavart Thareja is working as a Professor in the Rayat & Bahra Institute of Engineering & Technology, Chandigarh, India. He is a Metallurgical Teacher/ Engineer, alive to Societal Dimensions which are depicted in Priyavrat’s work, projects undertaken, creative endeavors including Poems. His Area of Expertise includes multiple disciplines like Education, Teaching, Humanity Skills, Engineering, Management, Environment Study etc. He is the Author of many Books, Articles/Thoughts, Prayers, Quotations etc; and recipient of many Grants and Awards.

Dr. A H Yegneswaran, is a Scientist G, (Retd) from CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh India. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 1979 and earned his Postdoctoral research from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. He then joined as a Scientist at CSIR – AMPRI in 1983 and superannuated in 2011. He has 35 Years of experience in the field of Metallurgy and Materials Science. His area of Expertise includes: Deformation Behaviour of Metallic and Composite Materials, Structure Property Relationships, Tribology, Surface Engineering and Materials Development. He has published more than 100 papers in International and National journals and presented more than 130 papers in conferences and seminars. He has worked on many projects funded by the Government, public and private sectors. He was also the leader of the CSIR-AIST (Japan) collaborative project on Precision Forging from AMPRI and led a team to AIST laboratory, Tsukuba Japan.`He is the recipient of many awards from the Institute of Indian Foundrymen, Indian Institute of Metals, Institution of Engineers(India), Kolkata and the University of Roorkee.

Prof. Daniel, B.S.S. is a Project Engineer (since June 1997) in the Department of Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, IIT Kanpur. He joined the institute of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and Center of Nanotechnology (IIT Roorkee) as an Assistant Professor in 2004. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Composite Materials from IIT Kanpur in year 1997 and earned his postdoctoral in Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW), Dresden, Germany (2000-2001) and Techniche Facultaet, Christian Albrechts Universitaet, Kiel, Germany (2001-2003). He has supervised PhD students for more than 8 years, possesses a teaching experience in the field of Structural Metallurgy and composite materials and sponsored a research project in 2013 from CSIR and Naval Research project. He has published more than 35 papers in various peer reviewed international journals and conference proceedings, coauthored a book titled “Nanomaterials and Devices: Processing and Applications” published by the Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland in 2009, “Advances in Materials Development: A festschrift honouring Professor Subrata Ray” by the Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland in 2012 and “Advances in Materials and Processing: Challenges and Opportunities” by the Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland in 2012.

Dr. Ranjit Singh Solanki is a Professor as well as a Chief Scientist & HOD of Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Design at the University of AcSIR & AMPRI-CSIR, Bhopal. Then he worked at various levels as the Engineer and Scientist with well reputed Industries as well as the Research and Academic Institutions.He is the co-author of a text book entitled “Welding for Construction Industry”. He has 3 patents to his credit and published 69 papers in the International / National Journals. He has been awarded by the European Union in the memory of Prof. (Ing.) Dr. Tech. ESSA Jozef Chabelka (Dr. Sc.,Dr.h.c.), Welding Technologist for the significant contribution towards the Welding & Fabrication Industries. He is the 2nd. Indian, who has been honored with this award after Dr. Baldev Raj, a well known Nuclear Scientist of India. Also, he has awarded with Medal by the Union Ministry of Irrigation, New Delhi for the development of a new material for the “Quick Repair” of damaged old concrete structures. Additionally, he is recipient of Binani Trust Medal for excellent R&D work in the field of Non-ferrous Metal processing.

Dr. S Das is a Chief Scientist in the Materials Engineering Department of CSIR-Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute, Bhopal 1989. Then worked as a Scientist in CSIR - Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute, Bhopal - for 30 Years. He is having 30 Years of Experience in the field of Materials Engineering. His Area of Expertise includes: Metal Matrix Composites, Metal Foam, Materials Design and manufacturing. He is the author of 125 research papers and recipient of Metallurgist of the Year award by Ministry of Steel. He is also the DAAD fellow and a visiting professor in the Materials Department, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA.

Dr. Subash Chandra Mishra is a Professor in the Merallurgical & Materials Department of N.I.T Rourkela. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Materials Science from I.I.T, Kharagpur in 1988 and earned his postdoctoral from university of Liverpool JMU. Then worked as a Professor in National Institute of Technology, Rourkela for 26 Years. He is having 30 Years of Experience in the field of Materials processing Technology, Composite materials and Thermal Plasma Technology. His Area of Expertise includes: Thermal Spray Coating, Bio-waste reinforced Polymer Composite etc. He is the author of 7 books, one book chapter more than 250 research papers and recipient of following awards.

Dr.R.Padmanaban is assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department of AMRITA School of Engineering at the AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM University. He received his Ph.D.Degree in Mechanical Engineering from ANNA University in 2013 and is working as assistant professor in Mechanical Engineering Department/AMRITA School of Engineering for the past ten Years. He is having Seven Years of Experience in the field of Applied Numerical modeling of welding and joining processes. His Area of Expertise includes: Finite Element analysis, Design of Experiments, Optimization and Soft Computing. He has authored technical papers published in journals and conferences at the national and international level. He has delivered invited talks in the area of finite element modeling and welding process.

Dr. Kantesh Balani is an Associate Professor (since June 2014) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He joined the institute as an Assistant Professor in July 2008. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (specialization in Materials Science) from Florida International University in year 2007 and earned his postdoctoral in Plasma Forming Laboratory and Nanomechanical and Nanotribology Laboratory from Florida International University. He possesses over 10 years of experience in the field of coatings, plasma spraying, ceramic composites, and ultra-high temperature ceramics. His area of expertise includes: Carbon Nanotube reinforced composites, coatings (plasma sprayed, electrophoretic, electrodeposition, and electrostatically deposited). He has procured a funding of over US$900,000 during his last five years of tenure, and his h-index of 15 (total citations exceeding 1090) endorses his research productivity. He has authored three books, has published over 65 peer-reviewed international journal, and is recipient of several awards and honors (notable being IEI Young Engineer Award (2013-14) by The Institution of Engineers (India) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering discipline, 2013 P.K. Kelkar Research Fellowship, 2012 TMS Young Leader Professional Development Award by Materials Processing & Manufacturing Division (of TMS), Materials Science and Engineering C Young Researcher Award 2011 by Elsevier, Young Engineer Award 2010 by Indian National Academy of Engineering, Young Metallurgist Award 2010 from Indian Institute of Metals, Young Scientist Award in Materials Science division by Indian Science Congress Association 2009, R.L. Thakur Memorial Prize 2009 (Indian Ceramics Association), David Merchant International Student Achievement Award 2007). He serves as reviewer of over 25 journals.
