Dr. G. P. Karmakar is Total Chair Professor in Petroleum Engineering in the Department of Mining Engineering, (IIT Kharagpur) and has been working as a Visiting Professor in the same department. He is having 29 years of experience in teaching and actively engaged in research in the area of Enhanced Oil Recovery using Polymers, Oilfield Waste Treatment using Polymers, Shale Gas and has published 80 research papers in national/international journals/conferences.
Dr. G.P. Karmakar have received various Awards & Honours :UNESCO Scholarship at Instutul de Petrol si Gaze, Ploiesti, Romania (1981), DAAD Fellowship at Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany (2000), British Commonwealth Fellowship at Imperial College, London (2001), DAAD Fellowship at FachHochschule Lausitz, Senftenberg, Germany (2006).
Dr. G.P. Karmakar has supervised research works leading to PhD, fourteen M. Tech. Students (Regular course) have been completed under his supervision and  more than two hundred fifty B.Tech. Students had worked under him for dissertation project. He is also a Member of various professional bodies: Society of Petroleum Engineers, USA., Life Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers(IICHE), Mining, Geological and Metallurgical Institute of India(MGMI), Materials Research Society of India(MRSI), Indian Society for Technical Education(ISTE), Tribology Society of India(TSI).

Biography

Dr. Abhay Kumar Choubey is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Raebareli,India. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry-Applied Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) in 1994 and earned his postdoctoral from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India and University of Kansas, USA respectively. He has worked as an Assistant Professor in the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Dehradun, India and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Raebareli, India for 10 years. He is having 14 years of experience in the field of Petrochemistry and Petroleum Engineering. He is the author of a book, Synthesis of Thiadiazole and Dithaizole Derivatives: A Review. His Area of Expertise includes: Petrochemistry, Water shut- off, EOR/IOR, etc.

Dr. Akhtar Rasool Mir is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Science at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar, J&K, India. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Geology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, UP. He worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Geology, Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu. In 2011, he joined Department of Earth Science, University of Kashmir, Srinagar as Lecturer. He is having Four Years of Experience in the field of teaching at post graduate level. He is the author of more than ten National and International Research Papers. His Area of Expertise includes: Igneous Petrology, Geochemistry and Tectonics.

Dr. Ashish M Gujrathi is an Asst. Professor in the Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Department of College of Engineering at the Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman. He received his Doctorate Degree in Chemical Process Optimization field from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani in 2010. Dr Gujrathi has over 12 years of experience in the fields of Industry, Academics, Administration and Consultancy. He was associated at various capacities with industries like, ‘Paramount Minerals and Chemicals Limited, Ambarnath’, ‘Oswal Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited., Paradeep’, ‘Kenya Vegext (EPZ) Limited, Nairobi, Kenya’, ‘Fitwell Engineering Company, Thane’, and ‘Mecon Limited, Ranchi’. He acted as honorary consultant for ‘Ghari Detergents, Kanpur’.

Dr. Atul Sharma (Ph.D., Devi Ahilya University) is working as an Assistant Professor at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology. Dr. Sharma has been worked as a Visiting Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kun Shan University at Department of Mechanical Engineering. He has been published twenty six research papers in various International Journals, fifty three research papers in various International and National conferences. He also published several patents related to the PCMs technology in Taiwan region only. Presently three Department of Science & Technology (DST), New Delhi sponsored projects are going on at Non-Conventional Energy Laboratory, RGIPT, Rae Bareli. His research interests include developments and applications of Phase Change Materials for low temperature applications, solar thermal energy storage systems.

Dr. Baojun Bai is an Endowed Chair Professor in the Geology, Geological and Petroleum Engineering Department at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T). He received his Ph.D. Degree in Petroleum Engineering from New Mexico Tech in 2005 and earned his postdoctoral from California Institute of Technology in 2006. He had seven years of field experience with PetroChina and was the head of conformance control team from 1995 to 2002. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the areas of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and unconventional oil/gas development. Bai has published more than 100 papers in the area of EOR methods and application.

Mrs. Borkha Mech Das is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum Technology at Dibrugarh University. She is having 5 years of experience as an Assistant Professor. She is the author of a paper entitled, “A Preliminary Study on Unconventional Liquid Fuel from North-East India Coal”, which has received second prize for presentation in the First International Conference on Developing Unconventional Oil & Gas Resources at IIT, Madras. She has completed a UGC sponsored MRP entitled “A Study on Micellar Flooding with special reference to natural porous media of Bhogpara Oil Field”, under Broad area ‘Engineering & Technology in 2013. Her area of Expertise includes: Enhanced Oil Recovery, Drilling, Environmental Technology and Geophysics

Dr. Hamid Rahnema is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT). He received his Ph.D. Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2012. He is having 2 Years of Experience in the field of Reservoir Engineering and he is the director of Unconventional Resources Research Project (URRP) at New Mexico Tech which is an industry/university cooperative research program. His Area of Expertise includes: Enhanced Oil Recovery in Unconventional Resources and Numerical Modeling.

Mr. Himanshu H. Choksi is a Faculty in the Chemical Engineering Department of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He received his Master Degree in Chemical Engineering (Polymer Technology) from M.S. University of Baroda in 2005 and his Ph.D. is continuing from Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University. Then he worked as a Senior Lecturer in V.V.P. Engineering College for 15 Years. Presently, he is serving as a Faculty in Chemical Engineering Department of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University since last two years. He is also having two years industrial experience. He has worked as a Faculty with renowned Reliance Industries Limited in their “Extended Learning In-House Training Program” at Jamnagar, Gujarat. He is having total 19 Years of Experience in the field of Chemical Engineering. His Area of Expertise includes Biodiesel production techniques, Heat transfer, and Polymer synthesis.

Dr. Ismail M Saaid is a Chartered Marine Engineer (IMarEst) and an Associate Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, University of Technology PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2003. He has been with UTP as a faculty member for the past 11 years and rose to his current position as head of department since 2011. Prior to joining the academia, he was with BP Malaysia and Sime Darby Corporation serving as a young engineer in the oil & gas industry.. He is one of the recipients is the Golden Star Academic and Educational Excellence Award as “the best professor in petroleum engineering”, World Marketing Summit Malaysia 2013. He has secured a number of grants from both industry and the Malaysian government to spearhead oil & gas researches related to his expertise. He has authored/co-authored numerous papers, published in SCOPUS/ISI indexed journals. His area of expertise includes: upstream flow assurance and reservoir fluids studies

Dr. Kiran Patil is a Professor of Chemical Engineering in the Petrochemical and Petroleum Engineering Department of MAEER’s, Maharashtra Institute of Technology, at the University of Pune. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Pune. He is having 19 Years of Experience in the field of Chemical/Petrochemical/ Petroleum Engineering. He received PG Diploma in Piping Engineering and Design (1998) from MAEER’s, Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune. He is the author of six books on various subjects of Chemical Engineering and has published many research papers in various national and international academic journals. He has received four research grants from AICTE, New Delhi and BCUD, University of Pune. He received an award of Man of the Year, American Biographical Institute (ABI), Inc., California, (2011). His biographical profile was published in MARQUIS WHO'S WHO in the World 2011 (28th Edition), 2013 (30th Edition) USA. He is also a recipient of Bharat Jyoti Award from Indian International Friendship Society, New Delhi (2013). He received Best Professor in Petroleum Engineering, from 21st BSA and Dewang Mehta Business School, Mumbai (2013). His Area of Expertise includes: Mass transfer and Separation processes, Reactive Separations, Process Intensifications, Modeling and simulation of engineering systems, Green Engineering, Reaction Engineering and catalysis.

Dr. Ala’a H. Al-Muhtaseb is an Associate Professor in Department of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering at the Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Queens’s University Belfast/UK in 2004. Muhtaseb has worked as an Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University/Jordan for 7 years. He is having 10 years of experience in the field of waste water treatment. His Area of expertise includes: Waste water treatment, Biofuel production, Catalysis. He is the author of 55 published papers in peer reviewed journals, several conference papers and recipient of many grants.

Dr. Rakesh Chandra is a Senior Assistant Professor in the Applied Geology, Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Kashmir, Srinagar, J&K, India. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree in Geology from H.N.B. Garhwal. University and worked as Research Fellow at Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun, India for four years and carried out research work on the “Tectonic frame work and geologic features of accreting back-arc of Hundri and Sasoma area between Shyok and Nubra river water divide, Ladakh Himalaya and Karakoram, (J&K), India”. He is having fourteen years of experience in teaching and research in the field of Applied Geology. His Area of Expertise includes: Geology & Tectonics of Himalaya and Karakoram, Geochemistry and Quaternary climate change.

Dr. Somnath Nandi is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering, Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, India. He obtained his Ph.D. from Chemical Engineering, NCL Pune, 2010. He is having 7 Publication in Peer Reviewed Journal, 10 Publication in Peer Reviewed International and 25 in National Conferences. He has contributed 4 chapters. He is a member of Life Member of ISTE, New Delhi, Sr. Member of Asia-Pacific Chem., Biol. & Environ. Eng. Soc, Singapore, Member of IChemE, UK, Member of Intl. Dr. Subrata Borgohain Gogoi is an Associate Professor and Head, in the Department of Petroleum Technology of Dibrugarh University. She received her Ph.D. Degree in Petroleum Technology from Dibrugarh University in 2007. She is having 21 Years of Experience in the field of Petroleum Exploration & Production. She is the author of 20 papers in peer reviewed journals and book chapters, recipient of UGC, DBT and DST grants from the Government of India, recipients of awards in Indian Science Congress, DST and UGC International Travel award. Her Area of Expertise includes: Enhanced Oil Recovery, Flow through porous media, Environmental Management in the hydrocarbon sector & Refining crude of crude oil.

Dr. Upendra Singh Yadav is an Assistant Professor and Head in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the DIT University Dehradun. He received his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad in 2013. He is having 5 Years of Experience in the field of R & D. Her/his Area of Expertise includes: Enhanced Oil Recovery, Drilling Fluids, Flow assurance, Production Engineering and Reservoir Engineering.

Prof. V.P Sharma is a Professor and Head of Petroleum Engineering Department & Professor of Continuing Education at Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Faculty of Science from Punjab University in 1979. He joined Petroleum Engineering Department at Indian School of Mines as Project Officer in February 1982. He is having more than 35 Years of Experience in the field of teaching and research & development. He is the author of 43 research papers and has also presented papers in international conferences in India and abroad. He was selected as Environmental Fellow by THE ASIA FOUNDATION in the year 1994 under the auspices of the United States - Asia Environmental Partnership Programme, awarded Certificate of Merit by the Institute of Engineers (India) for the research paper in 1989. He is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education, Indian Society for Surface Science & Technology, The Mining, Geological & Metallurgical Institute of India (MMGI) and member of The Institution of Engineers (India) and member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). His Area of Expertise includes Drilling Fluids & Cements, Environmental Management in Petroleum Operations & Petroleum Formation Evaluation.

Dr. Vineet Kumar is an Associate Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department of IIT Roorkee at Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering from IT-BHU, Varanasi in 1995. He worked as an Assistant Professor followed by Professor and Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at Thapar University for more than Nine Years. He served as a member of the State Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) of Pujab for two consecutive terms (2008-2014). Dr. Kumar is having about 20 Years of Experience in the field of Process Modeling and Simulation. Dr. Kumar has supervised 10 research works leading to PhD degrees and has contributed to about 100 research papers and chapters in encyclopedias with good impact factor. His Area of Expertise includes: Process Modeling, Multiphase Reactors, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Petroleum Refining and Separation Processes.

Dr. Reza Rezaee is a Professor in the Petroleum Engineering Department at the University of Curtin. He received his Ph.D. in 1996 from Adelaide University. He is having 25 Years of Experience in the field of Petrophysics and reservoir characterization. He is the author of more than 125 books and papers. His Area of Expertise includes: Petrophysics and well log analysis, Reservoir Characterization and shale gas

Dr. Vamegh is a Professor and the head of Department of Petroleum Engineering at Curtin University in Western Australia. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and is a registered engineer with the National Professional Engineers Register (NPER) of Australia. After completing his PhD in 2002 from Imperial College, London, Vamegh took up the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology (Iran). In 2006 Vamegh joined the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Curtin University to add support to the delivery of the Department's Master of Petroleum Well Engineering degree, and to carry out research in his specialist area of wellbore stability, sanding, hydraulic fracturing, etc. He established the Curtin. He also established "Curtin Drilling Research Group (CDRG)" in 2010. The group is involved in next generation drilling program studies as part of the Deep ExplorationTechnologies (DET) of CRC. Vamegh has also been a consulting engineer on various Geomechanics related projects with Schlumberger's Data and Consulting Services (DCS) in Perth.

Ravi Vadapalli is Associate Site Director at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas Tech University Accomplished computational researcher with over 15 years of experience in broad spectrum of high performance computing (HPC) applications in science, engineering and medicine. Demonstrated leadership in HPC ,cloud and Big Data application development, fostering disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations, and industry-research partnerships. Research areas include HPC cloud computing applications, Strategic planning and implementation, corporate engagement and partnerships, Industry relevant R&D.

Dr. Shari Dunn-Norman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences and Geological & Petroleum Engineering in Missouri University of Science and Technology. She earned a bachelor of science degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa (Oklahoma) in 1978 and a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1990. She is a recipient of the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ 2015 Distinguished Membership Award. She has over 40 years in the field, including 26 years on the Missouri S&T faculty, encompassing hands-on work, teaching and research.

Ilham El-Monier is lecturer at Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering at The University of Oklahoma. Research interests include Well test analysis, decline and type curve analysis, history matching and production forecast; Formation damage and its effect on the reservoir mechanical properties; Enhanced oil recovery; Petrophysics and hydraulic fracturing.She has done her PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Mayank Tyagi is an Associate Professor Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering Louisiana State University. He has done his PhD from Louisiana State University. He has several publications to his credit.

Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Awal is Professor and Chair in Dept. of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering,American University of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. He has completed his education from University of Oklahoma , Norman.He has many publications to his credit.

Gholamreza Vakili-Nezhaad is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, Sultan Qaboos University. He has done his PhD in Chemical Engineering, Amir-Kabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran.He has many Publications to his credit.

Dr. Ajay Mandal is currently working as an Associate Professor & Associate Dean in Department of Petroleum Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, Jharkhand, India. He obtained his M.Che. (1998) in chemical engineering from Jadavpur University and Ph. D. (2004) in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. In addition to regular duties Dr. Mandal is involved in training of executives from various organizations like ONGC, Oil India Ltd., NTPC etc on different fields of Petroleum Engineering. He received SPE South Asia Regional Distinguished achievement award for petroleum engineering in 2015 and IIChE (Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers) national award in 2017 and ONGC award for excellence in design and development of Oil/Gas related process plant and chemicals. He published 152+ papers in international journals. He worked as a member of the regional scholarship & student retention committee of SPE middle east, North Africa and India region. He is the recipient of “Young Scientist” award given by department of science and technology, Government of India under SERC Fast Track scheme.

Dr. Pradeep B Jadhav is currently working as an Professor and Head of Department in Petroleum Engineering at Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, India. He obtained his M.Sc in 1982 in Geology from University of Pune and completed his Ph.D in 1988 in Geology from University of Pune. He has 31 years of highly competent and dependable teaching professional career involving curriculum design related to Petroleum Geology and Engineering and administration. His area of research interest is Petroleum Geology, Deformation of rocks, engineering geology and petroleum fiscal system. He has completed five research projects funded by Department of Science and Technology, All India Council of Technical Education, Ministry of Earth Science and Pune University. He is a recipient of “Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty” from SPE International for South Asia region in October 2016. He is a chairman of Local Inquiry Committee and Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Prof Hamid Ali is Professor in the Department of Petroleum Studies of Aligarh Muslim University. He did his graduation and post graduation in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (Formerly University of Roorkee) and Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University. Joined as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Chemical Engineering in December, 1980 as its founder teacher and was promoted to the Post of Reader (Associate Professor) in March, 1985. Joined as professor in the Institute of Petroleum Studies and Chemical Engineering, A.M.U., Aligarh in March 1993 and was appointed as full-time Director of the Institute of Petroleum Studies and Chemical Engineering in September 1993. His research interest includes Heat Transfer to Boiling Liquids, Corrosion Additives for Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries.

Dr. Minati Das is a professor in the Department of Petroleum Technology, Dibrugarh University. She recieved her Ph.D. in Petroleum Technology. She has six years of industrial experience in Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. as Reservoir Engineer and Assistant Director (Reservoir); and has Twenty nine years of postgraduate teaching experiences (reservoir engineering) in the Department of Petroleum Technology. She received Prof. J.S.R. Krishna Rao, Dr. R. Dhana Raju,medal for the best paper published in the “Journal of Applied Geochemistry” (ISAG) for the year 2007. Her area of interest is in Petroleum Geology and Reservoir Engineering.
