Biography

Dr.Pillai received his B.Pharm (1965) and M.Pharm (1967) from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India and MSc (1981) and PhD (1984) from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Dr.Pillai was on the faculty of the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal, India as a professor of Pharmaceutics, at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Jordan and at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad from 1998-2009 as professor and Director of the School of Pharmacy. While in Trinidad, Dr.Pillai also served as a member of the Drug Advisory committee, Ministry of Health, Government of Trinidad & Tobago, an honorary appointment by the Minister of Health. Dr.Pillai represented Trinidad at the PAHO/WHO sponsored conferences on "Pharmaceutical education in the Caribbean" in Barbados, Bahamas, Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Dr.Pillai supervised the research work of 14 post graduate students (M.Pharm & M.Phil) and four PhD students. His area of research include development of analytical methods for drug analysis in biofluids for the study of Pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism and for stereoselective drug disposition; nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems for anticancer, anti-inflammatory agents and antibiotics and evaluation of bioequivalence of generic drug products sponsored by Pharmaceutical companies. He is currently working as Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sullivan University college of Pharmacy, 2100 Gardiner Lane, Louisville, KY 40205, USA

Dr. Ashok Kumar Tiwari is Professor in AcSIR and Senior Principal Scientist in the Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology Division of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad (India). He received his Ph.D. Degree in Zoology (Basic Principles) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi in 1992 and did his postdoctoral research from same university awarded to him by CSIR-New Delhi. Then Dr. Tiwari worked as a CSIR-Fellow at CSIR-IICT Hyderabad till 2001. In the year 2001, he was absorbed in the same institute as Principal Scientist. He is having more than 25 Years of Research Experience in the field of Biomedical Sciences. His Area of Expertise includes metabolic disorders and development of therapeutics. He is the author of more than 107 research publications in internationally reputed scientific journals and member editorial board of several scientific journals.

Dr. D.N.Rao Obtained his M.Sc. (1972) and Ph.D (1978) degrees. After his doctoral degree, he joined as a Research Officer at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and subsequently became a lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry AIIMS,. Presently, he is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, AIIMS. Dr. D.N. Rao is currently involved in teaching Biochemistry and Immunology to various professional courses. His research interest includes Biochemistry and Immunology of infectious diseases. His citation spans developing peptide based immunogens for vaccine design and immuno-diagnostics for diseases like Malaria, HIV, and Plague. He has guided a large number of students for Ph.D, M.D. and M.Sc degrees. He has generated extramural research grants from DST, DBT, ICMR, DAE, DRDO, CSIR and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Currently, he is the elected General Secretary of Indian Immunology Society and Vice President of FIMSA. He is recipient of AIIMS Excellence award Ist Prize 2012 awarded by Dr. Robert Huber (Noble Laureat). He is Chairman of the Intramural Research project of AIIMS. He is the reviewer for many National and International journals.

Dr. Sneha Gaddam is a Sr. Process Engineer in a semiconductor industry in the United states of America. She/he received his/her Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry from The University of North Texas in 2014. She is has Two Years of Experience in the field of semiconductors Her Area of Expertise include: Plasma effects on Sililcon and other silicon based substrates for epoxy bonding, Surface cleaning of silicon nitride under Ultra high vacuum, X-ray electron spectroscopy, contact angle measurements, AFM, Free radical reactions on Silicon, and high-k materials and Deposition techniques including Chemical vapor deposition, Physical vapor deposition.

Dr Bahareh Honarparvar is Lecturer in Pharmaceutical sciences at college of Health Sciences at KwaZulu-Natal University (UKZN) .She/he received his/her Ph.D. Degree in physical chemistry and earned his/her postdoctoral from KwaZulu-Natal University-Westville Campus in June 2013. He/she is having Experience in the field of Pharmaceutical chemistry, Thermochemistry , Quantum Chemistry , Molecular spectroscopy. She/he is the author of 40 Research papers and had been a part many national and International conferences/seminar.

Dr. N. Udupa graduated from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, in 1974. In the same university he completed his post-graduation in Pharmaceutics in 1976 and obtained his doctoral degree (PhD) in 1987. He worked in Pharmaceutical Industry for 8 years and later joined academics. He is presently working as Research Director (Health Sciences) at Manipal University, Mnaipal. He has received any prestigious awards. He was the Convenor for Scientific Services of Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association for three years. He was the chief coordinator of 62nd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress at Manipal in 2010. Dr. Udupa has visited several internationally reputed research laboratories and Universities in various countries. He is on the editorial board of several national and international journals. He is a member of several prestigious professional organizations. He has been guiding several M.Pharm and Ph.D candidates for research projects sponsored by UGC, CSIR, DST DBT, ICMR, AICTE, Industries and Dr. TMA Pai Research Foundation, Manipal. Dr. Udupa is a proliferative writer and has published more than 450 articles in national and international journals and is editor of several books. He has 8 Indian patents to his credit.

Gert (H. G.) Kruger graduated from Potchefstroom University, South Africa, in 1996 under the supervison of Frans (F. J. C.) Martins and Attie (A. M.) Viljoen. His Ph.D. lineage is traced back to Rudolf Criegee (Wutzburg) via Johan Dekker (Karlsruhe). The Dekkersintroduced cage chemistry to South Africa, and Kruger actively pursues the synthesis, computational chemistry, and biotesting of cage compounds in the Catalysis and Peptide Research Unit at UKZN.

Basawaraj s patil is working as professor in the department of pharmaceutical and completed his M.pharm (1998) with first rank and secured gold medal, from Gulbarga University Gulbarga. He has a total experience of 15 years in teaching and more than 3 years in industry. He has publishes more than 30 research papers in various National and international journals and presented 11 papers at national conferences. He is guiding M.pharm students of our college. He is life member of professional bodies like IPA, APTI, OPAI, ILDFR and executive member of Hyderabad, Karnataka pharmacy excellence academy. He is editorial board member of two international journals.

Mrs. Shalini S, is the senior lecturer in the Faculty of Pharmacy in AIMST University Malaysia. She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in 2002 and Master’s degree in 2005 from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. Then she started her career in academics as lecturer in The Erode college of Pharmacy and also worked in Adina institute of Pharmaceutical sciences, Sagar (M.P) and AlShifa College of Pharmacy , Perinthalmanna (Kerala). In 2009, she got an opportunity to join the Faculty of Pharmacy, AIMST University, Malaysia. She is having 11 years of experience in teaching and her field of Pharmacy Practice. Her area of expertise includes drug utilisation studies, pharmacoeconomic studies, KAP studies etc… She has received a total of 4 grants (University and National) as Principal investigator and co-investigator.

Dr. Madan L. Kaushik is Professor & Head Department of Pharmacology, CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shahpur, Jalandhar-144020, Punjab, India. He received his Ph.D. Degree in faculty of Pharmacy (Pharmacology) from KLE University, Belgaum, Karnataka. He received his Master Degree in Pharmacology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science Bangalore and got 2nd Rank. He received the research project grant. His Area of Expertise includes In vivo and in vitro screening of natural/synthetic products for Anti-inflammatory, Antiarthritic, Anti-diabetic, Analgesic, Antipyretic, Hepatoprotective, anticancer Molecular Pharmacology, Neuropharmacology and Toxicology. He is the author of more than 15 research publications in National and Internationally reputed scientific journals and 12 students passed the M. Pharm. degree under his guidance. He is member of several scientific and social committees.
