Biography

Dr. Dr. K.P.Tiwary is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, Patna. He obtained his Ph.D Degree in Physics from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in 2005. He worked as a faculty in the Department of Applied Physics in Delhi College of Engineering, New Delhi. Presently He is working as an Assistant Professor in Birla Institute of Technology Mesra Ranchi, Patna Campus for 7 Years. He is having 14 Years of Experience in the field of ECR Plasma and Compound semiconductors. He is the author of 15 Research Papers of International and National repute and also authored two books. His Area of Expertise includes: II-VI and III-V semiconductor materials, ECR Plasma.

Dr. Kamlesh Alti is an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department of Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University since 2012. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in 2005 and earned his postdoctoral from TIFR, Mumbai and University of Alberta, Canada. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Manipal University for three Years. He is having 12 Years of Experience in the field of Laser and Photonics. He has successfully completed two major government funded research projects. His Area of Expertise includes: Laser micromachining, spectroscopy, Ultrafast Photonics

Gautam Mukhopadhyay is a Professor of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Bombay, India. He has obtained his degree of Masters in Physics from IIT-Khargpur in 1966, and then joined BARC Training School. He joined as Research Associate in the Theoretical Physics Group in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, and worked on Electronic Energy Bands of Cerium Metal for his Ph.D., obtaining the degree from Bombay University in 1973. He spent nearly six years at the Institute of Theoretical Physics at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, after which he joined Physics Department, IITBombay as an Assistant Professor. He became Full Professor in 1987, and retired in that Position in December 2010. He was made Institute Chair Professor in Physics for 3 years during 2010-12, and was reappointed as Professor during 2011-2013. He is currently reappointed at Physics Department IIT Bombay as Emeritus Fellow till December 2015. He has published more than hundred papers in various international journals and conference proceedings with nearly 700 citations. His area of interest includes: Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics.

Dr. Satish Chandra Agarwal is an Emeritus Scientist at CSIR. He obtained his doctoral degree from University of Chicago, USA, and carried out postdoctoral research at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai.He is having 40 years of experience in the field of Physics and recognized as a Co-editor, Proc. of the 13th International Conference on Amorphous & Liquid Semiconductors, Asheville, North Carolina, USA, Member, Advisory Editorial Board, J. Non-crystalline Solids, etc. He has referred 87 Papers in Refereed (indexed) Journals, 3 Books, 5 Chapters, 1 Patent. His area of interest includes: Electronic structure of amorphous semiconductors including thin films of tetrahedrally bonded amorphous semiconductors as well as bulk and thin films of chalcogenide glasses, by studying their transport and optical properties, ESR, etc.; Thin film devices based on amorphous silicon and chalcogenides; Amorphous multilayers; Nanocrystalline Silicon; Metastabilities.

Dr. Afaq Ahmad is an Assistant Professor in the Center of Excellence in Solid State Physics at the University of the Punjab Lahore Pakistan. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Theoretical Physics from Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing China in 2007, then worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, COSATS Lahore for two Years. He is having Eight Years of Experience in the field of Atomic and Molecular Physics and Material Simulation. He is the author of a book titled Interferences in the photo-detachment of negative ion systems: Theoretical Imaging Method and Two-center Model. His Area of interest includes: Photo-detachment of negative ions, DFT Calculations

Dr. Ajay Kumar Thakur born at Darbhanga , Bihar India and did his M. Sc in Physics with the specialization of electronics and radio physics from L. N. Mithila University, Darbhanga. He did his Ph. D degree in 2006 from L. N. Mlthila University, Darbhanga. He has published more than 40 research papers in referred journal at national and international level. He has also published about 30 research papers in national and international level seminar, conference and different workshop. He has received best technical paper presentation award in 98th Indian Science Congress Conference and also others award in the field of edcation. He is members of different research organizations. Currently , he is engaged as faculty in community college in the department of Physics of C. M. Sc. College, Darbhanga. His current research interest is in the field of antenna (DRA) for the improvement of bandwidth for socio- economic development.

Dr. Jai Prakash is an Assistant Professor in Physics Department of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh since 2015. He worked as an Assistant Professor in Central University of Punjab, Bathinda for more than two years. He received his M. Sc. degree from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in 2003 and Ph. D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi in 2010. During his doctoral studies, he investigated the effect of nano-materials on the electro-optical properties of ferroelectric liquid crystals. In 2010, he began postdoctoral studies at Department of Physics and Astronomy, San Francisco State University, San Francisco, USA. During his postdoctoral fellowship, he worked on nonlinear optical effects in colloidal suspensions. He has 38 publications in highly reputed international journals with nearly 700 citations and holds two patents in the area of liquid crystal devices. He is also the recipient of prestigious INSPIRE Faculty Award (Awadred by DST, New Delhi). His current activities include research on liquid crystal based electro-optical devices, nonlinear effects in colloidal suspensions and liquid crystals.

Dr. Muhammad Abrar is working as Assistant professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad from 8th January, 2015. He worked in the department of Physics, Hazara University Mansehra as Assistant Professor from 6th May, 2013 to 5th May, 2014. He is involved in teaching and research work. He obtained his PhD degree from University of Peshawar Pakistan, in 2013 in collaboration with Qauid-i-Azam University (QAU), Pakistan. He was also Visiting Research Scholar at Queen’s University Belfast, UK from 28th Jan. 2010–16th Aug. 2010. He has published 11 research papers in 2013-15 and six are under review in referred journals of international repute. He has attended many conferences and presented oral/poster presentation in the field of Experimental Plasma Physics and Controlled Nuclear Fusion. His research papers are published in various International Journals of repute like Applied Surface Science, Current Applied Physics, European Journal of Applied Physics, Chinese Physics Letters, Plasma Science and Technology, Journal of Scientific and Industrial Research. His primary research interests are concerned with Diagnostics of Plasma discharges, Plasma processing of Agricultural, biomedical samples and Nanomaterials. As recognition of his contribution in his field, he is inducted as Affiliate Member of International Center for Diffraction Data (ICDD), Canada since 2007. He is Lifetime member of Pakistan Physical Society, Condensed Material Society and Pakistan Material Society. He worked as Information Secretary of Pakistan Material Society (In office 2006-2012).

Dr. Yaseen Iqbal is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Peshawar (UoP), Pakistan. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Engineering Materials from the Sheffield University in 1997 and earned his 7 years postdoctoral experience from the same university. He worked as a Foreign Professor, full Professor and Professor (TTS) in the Institute of Physics & Electronics, UoP for 12 Years. He worked as Director, Institute of Physics & Electronics and presently as Chairman, Department of Physics, UoP. He is having more than 19 Years experience in the field of engineering materials. His area of expertise includes; electro-ceramics, vitreous ceramics, glass-ceramics, phase & microstructure analysis. He is the author of 15 ICDD cards and more than 100 articles in peer reviewed international Impact Factor journals. He received several research grants (~Rs. 80) which helped him in the establishment of Materials Research Lab (UoP). He earned several awards such as R&D effort award, Research Productivity award etc.

Dr. Mahmood Sabooni at the moment is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Quantum Computing, Waterloo, Canada. https://services.iqc.uwaterloo.ca/people/profile/msabooni/ He received his Ph.D. Degree from Quantum Information Group, Atomic Physics Department from Lund University, Lund, Sweden in April 2013 and while his MSc. is awarded in Solid State Physics from Shahrood University of Technology, Shahrood, Iran in June 2005. From 2005 to 2008 he was faculty member in Azad University, Shahrood Branch, Iran. He held a postdoctoral fellowship at Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, Garching, Germany. He is having eight Years of Experience in the field of experimental quantum Information/ quantum memories in an atomic ensemble. Her/his Area of expertise includes: experimental quantum optics, quantum gas microscopy, cold atom ensemble, atomic spectroscopy, laser stabilization, external cavity diode laser construction.

Muhammad Kamran, Post Doc, Ph.D Assistant Professor Electrical Engineering Department CIIT, Wah Cantt I have been associated with COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) as a faculty member since 2003. Following my Ph.D. in 2009, I joined Islamabad campus as Assistant Professor with the Department of Physics, and remained there for four years. During this stint, I was selected for Post doctorate fellowship by TWAS-CAS, which was effectively pursued from June 2012 to June 2013. Since 2013, I have been working with the Electrical Engineering Department, CIIT at Wah campus. Usually I am required to conduct 9hrs of teaching a week, and the rest of the time needs to be spent on administrative duties, student counseling, and research work. Currently, I am supervising one graduate student and supervised two graduates last year. With my teaching experience mounting 12 years (post Ph.D. experience of 6.5 years), and I have managed to publish 18 papers in ISI indexed journals (with impact factor ~ 20+)
