Biography

Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Maurya is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, INDIA. He received his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. He is active academically and professionally in the area of traffic flow modeling, driver behaviour, road safety, vehicular emission modelling, traffic data collection and analysis studies since last one decade. He has published more than 25 technical papers in international journals and conferences. He has received the DAAD fellowship for one month visited at Technische Universität Darmstadt. He is board member of “Transportation Research Group (TRG)” of India and life member of “Indian Roads Congress”. He is also certified “Road safety Auditor” by International Road Federation (India) and Australian Road Research Board. He has delivered invited lectures at various International Institutes like Technische Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Darmstadt, University Duisburg-Essen and National University of Singapore.

Dr. Avijit Maji is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Transportation Systems Engineering from Morgan State University in 2008. Then worked in various positions with Maryland State Highway Administration (MdSHA) for five years. Before leaving MdSHA, as Division Chief he was managing the largest division of the organization in terms of manpower. He is having more than twelve years of Experience in the field of Transportation Systems Engineering. He is a licensed Profession Engineer (PE) and certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE). His Area of Expertise includes: Innovative intersection and interchange design, Geometric design, Operational effects of geometric design, Performance based geometric design, Safety, Alignment design, Path planning. He is the author of more than twenty journal and conference papers, recipient of Young Engineer of the Year 2011 award administered by the Maryland Society of Professional Engineers, recipient of Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation HBCU Fellowship in 2006 and 2007 administered by the Federal Highway Administration, USA, Work Team of the Year in 2007 and 2008 administered by the MdSHA and Best Project award in 2004 administered by the Infosys Technologies Limited.

Professor R. Gobinath is a Professor in the Jay Shriram Group of Institutions, Department of Civil Engineering at the Anna University. He had published more than 30 research papers in various journals and also served as editorial member of various journals in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is specialized in Environment and Environmental Geo-technology and presently working slope stabilization. He also serves in review board of various journals in the field of Civil Engineering. He is the author of more than 30 publications and also had attended more than 90 conferences in both national and International level.

Dr. Hansa Jeswani is a Professor in the Civil Engineering Department Sardar Patel College of Engineering at the University of Mumbai. She received her Ph.D. Degree in Environmental Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT B) in 2011. She has worked as Associate Professor in Sardar Patel College of Engineering for 11Years. She is having 12 Years of Experience in the field of Environmental Engineering. Her Area of Expertise includes: Environmental Management, Environment Monitoring and Assessment, Wastewater Engineering, Water Treatment and Sustainable Structures. She is the author of 24 research papers and has received two grants for department of biotechnology.

Dr K.V.R. Ravi Shankar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at NIT Warangal, Telangana, India. He received his Ph.D. from IIT Bombay in 2011. He is having more than 5 Years of Experience in the field of teaching and research. His research interests centre on mixed traffic flow modeling and simulation model development, non-lane based behavioral analysis, capacity analysis of highways under mixed traffic conditions, innovative road safety strategies, analysis and implementation of intelligent transportation systems, pedestrian behavioral analysis and modeling. He has explored the effect of vehicle-type in mixed traffic flow behaviour and developed models to represent realistic field conditions. He is well versed with various traffic simulation models and application to analysis of real traffic systems He is the author of about 20 publications in leading international journals and conference publications. He is regularly involved in various training programs conducted by Institute of Urban Transport, India. He is recipient of research grant from Department of Science and Technology, India and worked on consultancy projects related to development of toolkits, traffic management planning and simulation analysis and road safety improvement.

Dr. Malik Shoeb Ahmad is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering, Department, Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh in 2009 He worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering Aligarh Muslim University for 20 Years. He is having 20 Years of Experience in the field of Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering. His Area of Expertise includes: Pavement Design, Job Mix formula for Flexible Pavements, Foundation Engineering, Fly ash and its utilization. He has published more than 50 papers in Journals and Conferences

Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He received his Ph.D.Degree in Traffic Engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan in 2004 and earned his postdoctoral from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Then worked as a faculty in Civil Engineering Department in same University for 17 Years. He is having 15 Years of Experience in the field of Transportation Engineering. His Area of Expertise includes: Traffic Flow Theory, Transportation Planning, Traffic Safety, Structural Design of Pavement, Pavement Materials, Construction Management, Heterogeneous Traffic Flow, etc. He is the author of more than 50 Journal and Conferences Research Papers.

Dr. Moazzem Hossain is a Professor of Civil Engineering Department at Bangladesh University of En-gineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Transportation from University of Southampton, UK in 1996. Since then, he has been working as a Faculty of Transpor-tation Division in the Department of Civil Engineering at BUET. On deputation from BUET, he also worked as a Faculty member of Transportation and Logistics Program at Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST) for about 3 years. He is having 25 Years of Experience in the field of Transpor-tation and Traffic Engineering. His Area of Expertise includes: Transport System Simulation, Traffic Engineering, Energy and Environmental issues of Transport, Public Transportation, Freight Transportation and Logistics. He has published numerous research papers in the journals of international repute and also edited a number of conference proceedings in various capacities. He conducted a number of funded research projects with national, international and multilateral research Grants.

Dr. Norhidayah Binti Abdul Hassan is a Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Geotechnics and Transportation, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor, Malaysia. After completing her Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2005, she joined the Faculty of Civil Engineering, (UTM) as an academic staff. Then she completed Master degree in Civil Engineering (Highway and Transportation) at UTM in 2007. She completed PhD in Civil Engineering (November, 2012) at Nottingham Transportation Engineering Centre (NTEC), University of Nottingham, United Kingdom specializing in pavement materials under the supervision of Prof Gordon Airey. Currently she is teaching the subject of highway engineering and also being appointed as the Head of the Transportation Laboratory at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UTM.

Dr. Partha Pratim Dey did his graduation in Civil Engineering in 1998 from B. E. College, Post Graduation in Transportation Engineering from IIT Roorkee in 2003 and doctorate from IIT Roorkee in 2006. Presently he is working as Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Odisha. India. Dr. Dey has published more than 20 research papers on various aspects of Traffic Engineering. His area of research interest is modeling of traffic flow under heterogeneous traffic condition prevailing in India. Right now he is working to solve the problems associated with U-turning movements at uncontrolled median openings.

Dr. Seyedehsan Seyedabrishami is a Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Tarbiat Modares University. He received his Ph.D.Degree in Transportation Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2011 and then worked as an Assistant Professor in Tarbiat Modares University till now. He is having 10 Years of Experience in the field of Transportation Engineering and his Area of Expertise includes: Transportation Network Modeling, Project Evaluation, Simulation model, and Safety.

Dr. Pradeep Kumar Agarwal is a Professor in the Department of civil engineering at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Transport System Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2006. Then worked as a Professor in Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology for 20 Years. He is having 20 Years of Experience in the field of Transportation Engineering. His Area of Expertise includes: Traffic Engineering, Road Safety, Highway Maintenance etc.

Dr. Akshey Bhargava is presently Professor in Civil Engineering, Global Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. He has been the “Member Secretary “to the Rajasthan Pollution Control Board, Jaipur, also has been Senior visiting Prof. L.D. College of Engineering and CEPT University, Ahmedabad and Director Kalol Institute of Technology and Research Centre, Kalol, Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. Also was Director, Jyoti Rao Phoole University, Jaipur and Technical Advisor/ Environmental Advisor to various consultancy organizations.

Prof. Ali M. Gharavimajdi did his Phd in Civil Engineering (dams) from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran and M. sc. in Civil Engineering (earthquake) from Ferdowsi University Of Mashhad, Iran. His area of interest are dams: all design and stability control aspects related to foundation and body of RCC, embankment and rock fill dams, foundation and abutments of gravity and Arch concrete dams, strength and deformation properties, permeability and seepage control measures, slopes: rock slopes and structures, waste disposal and land fill design, geo-environment,soil pollution and remediation technology and environmental impact assessment study of hydropower and dames. He reviewed various international review expert panals, he is also a member of various societies. He published various national and international papers with farsi/ persian language; as well as in conferences.

Dr. P. K. Agarwal, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, (Transportation Engineering) at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology ,Bhopal (MP). His Educational Qualifications are Ph. D. (Civil Engg.) (Transportation System Engg.) (IIT Kanpur), M.E. (Civil Engg.) (Transportation System Engg.) (IIT Roorkee), B.E. (Civil Engg.) (IIT Roorkee) He has 21 years of Experience, his Publication; International Journals: 25, National Journals: 11, International Conference: 21, National Conference: 24. He is Member of various professional bodies like Indian Road Congress (IRC), Institute of Urban Transport (IUT), Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), Transportation Research Group of India (TRG). He is actively involved in providing testing and consultancy services in the area of Civil Engineering/ Transportation Engg to various Govt. &Non Govt. Organizations like MPRRDA, BDA, CPA, NRRDA, BPCL, AAI etc. He was Chairman, Council of Warden, Sr. warden, Warden, Asstt Proctor, Department Coordinator, TEQIPII, (Dept. of Civil Engg.), PG Course Coordinator Transportation Engg. President, Mandir Samiti, NSS Program Officer, etc.

Dr. Shriram P. Marathe is the Assistant Professor at N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Visvesvaraya Technological University. He is pursuing his Ph.D. Degree from VTU (Belgaum University) and earned his post-doctoral from the University of NITK Surathkal. He is having 4 Years of Experience in the field of teaching. His Area of Expertise includes: Transportation Engineering , Geotechnical Engineering , Civil Engineering, Concrete Pavements. He is the author of following articles: Stabilization of Lithomargic Soil Using Cement and Randomly Distributed Waste Shredded Rubber Tyre Chips. Prof. Saad Issa Sarsam got his BSc. in Civil Engineering (1977), Post graduate diploma in Transportation Engineering (1978); MSc in Transportation Engineering (1980). He worked as senior material Engineer for NCCL (1982-1992); He joined the academic staff at University of Mosul (1992-2005) and got the Assistant Professor degree at (2002); He joined the academic staff at University of Baghdad (2005 until now) and got the Professor degree at (2007). He has published more than 150 research paper in International and National journals. He has more than 25 Conferences Participation (With Paper Presentation) in various International platforms. He has received more than 50 prestigious awards by different organizations. He worked as Scientific reviewer in more than 50 Cosultation. He is editorial board member in various peer reviewed journals. Areas of specialization and interest: (Roller compacted concrete; modified asphalt concrete; Asphalt stabilized embankment models; Road user characteristics).
