A Nobel Method of Auxiliary Power Consumption Saving by Vibrating Level Probe on Ash Conveying System

Debyendu Chakroborty

Abstract

In thermal power plant, ash conveying system through electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is a vital phenomenon. There are two modes of conveying in thermal power plant ash conveying system-timer mode and probe mode. Timer mode of conveying is done through distributed control system (DCS) logics. Probe type of level measurement is done by vibrating forks type-level probe; we used the same in our study. By this method, lesser quantity of conveying air was used as well as there was a decrease of loading cycle of compressor. This technique helps us to save the auxiliary power of plant, which is subjected to conservation of energy. This paper discusses the modes to achieve such a type of saving by vibrating forks type-level probe in ash conveying system in thermal power plants.
