Cost Effective Heart Monitoring System

Rohit Jain, Mukund Kumar Menon

Abstract

The design and development of a cost effective hearth monitoring system displays the ECG pattern of a human body along with the basic physiological parameters such as body temperature and pulse rate has been developed and reported in this paper. The system consists of surface electrodes and electronic device. The surface electrodes are planted on chest and right limb as surface leads, which picks very sensitive ECG signals and later is displayed on the screen. The temperature is sensed using a temperature sensor by putting the patient’s finger or any body part from which temperature can be measured. The pulse rate sensor is worn on finger via a clip which measures and reports the pulse rate. The device is battery powered and also of small size, for outdoor use.
