The history of feminism itself is the history of women’s resistance and opposition to patriarchy. It is an ideology in art and life that resists patriarchy and challenges “the female essence”. It is the right that Bayo Adebowale skillfully employs syntactic features to expose women’s struggle, oppression and marginalization in African continent. Responding to Derrida Death penalty Seminar of 1999/2000 which took an abolitionist stance against the practice of death penalty, this paper argued that, Derrida’s de construction of theologico-Political concept of the sovereign right over life and death in view of abolishing capital punishment, should be understood in terms of the unconditional renunciation of sovereignty as called for in Derrida’s later political writing, Rogues in particular. This paper thus, adopted the overlapping philosophical method of historical, critical and hermeneutical analysis, evaluation and prescription to web together its arguments in support of Capital Punishment while giving special attention to the positions of Jacque Derrida with regards to the idea of death penalty. The work made a case against the Abolitionist by providing basis for the justification of Death penalty. It is the opinion of this paper that, even the capital punishment is not enough to right a wrong or engender justice. Rather restitution should also be made on the side of the offender in other forms while also giving his life as a punishment. It is often perceived that the lextalions is principle is the apogee of punishment when applied to serious crimes, especially culpable homicide. This work sets up yet a higher bar anchored on the perspective of critical cogitation and replaces this prescription of “ tooth for a tooth and eye for an eye” with some teeth for teeth and the eyes for an eye” advancing arguments to move the frontiers of debate on capital punishment forward.

<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Keywords:<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";"> Death penalty, capital punishment, abolitionist

<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Cite this Article

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Joseph N. The government is trying to provide more access to government services through various e-governance projects but there are some challenges in providing e-governance in this district because of geographical problems, electricity and internet connectivity problems, low literacy rate, etc. Major findings of this study are low awareness in rural area; high satisfaction level of users; low usages; e-governance projects are still not reaching the poor; there are several local intermediaries; women participation is low; and many other problems. The finding shows that purchase and donation are the major source of acquisition of materials. It was discovered that the University Librarian and the Founder mostly acquire the materials in the library. The finding also revealed that there is no laid down policy for acquisition of materials. The selection method mostly used are vendor’s list and librarian’s link. Finally, the study revealed that fund is the major impediment for the acquisition of resources. It basically connotes the practice of deliberately bringing a person’s life to an end so as to relieve him from unbearable and never ending pain and suffering. The concept of Euthanasia is highly debatable. The controversy lies in the question that whether people should be provided aid in bringing an end to their life, or should they be left alone to bear unbearable pain from an incurable disease. There have been diverse opinions on the issue of Euthanasia. The controversy has gained momentum because of the rapid developments in countries like Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Oregon of USA which have legalized Euthanasia. The concept of Euthanasia gained heights in India, when the Supreme Court legalized passive euthanasia in the famous case of Aruna Shanbaug. However, the Apex Court clarified that active Euthanasia is still ‘illegal’ in India, in the absence of any law to the contrary. There are both have and have-nots; and whether a person should be anti or pro Euthanasia depends on the ideology of each individual. The legalization of Euthanasia can lead to more open scrutiny, without any scope of undue harassment of the patient. Until active euthanasia becomes legal, it will be carried on clandestinely and there will be scope of misuse. Legalizing active euthanasia and practicing it within the confines of law would work as a magic potion and make death a blessing, not a tragedy. This paper highlights the concept of euthanasia in different religious perspectives, its position in various countries, the debate on legalizing it and present legal position.

<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Keywords:<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;"> <span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Suffering, termination, responsibility, right to life, unbearable, freedom

Cite this Article

Hina Kausar, Aakriti Porwal. There is no doubt that the rise of “the people” is now a principal political force in our contemporary world. Though democracy is largely celebrated today, Ortega y Gasset, in his book Revolt of the Masses thinks that it is an unfortunate incident. For him, the masses, regrettably, are vulgar. The masses are drunken by the possibilities that contemporary science has made feasible on one hand. Then again, their obscenity keeps them from realizing what to do with the conceivable outcomes. So, the masses float. The masses don't comprehend the past. This absence of knowledge endangers the masses’ progress with negative potential outcomes, but they want to lead, rule and involve in government. The “revolt of the masses” is simply a rebellion of hysteria against reason in human activities. It tries to give a description and analysis of the traditional wedding ceremony of the Majangir people, called “wawan” by the people themselves. The study attempted to explore and identify the most important cultural elements of the traditional wedding ceremony of the Majangir community and show how it is performed. Moreover, it intends to show the value system of the people in relation to marriage practices. The data was collected through direct observation including photographing and video recording. Key man informant interview and focused grouped discussion also employed for detailed information. All of the data was analyzed qualitatively based on their types. The collected data by observation, questioner and focused group discussion was analyzed and tried to triangulate for validity. In the Majangir wedding tradition, the consent between the would-be husband and wife (i.e. the girl and the boy) is the common practice. Early marriage is not exercised in this community. Sex before marriage is also prohibited in the Majangir culture. The preparation for the wedding ceremony and the bride’s wealth requirements are simple and easily affordable. Now, all of these traditions have completely changed due to the influence of the surrounding cultures and the Christian missionaries. The youth do not know what was happening in the past. In addition, they consider the traditional practices as backward and outdated. Instead, they opt to copy life styles and habits of the nearby Ethiopian nationalities and the Western Societies. As a result, the Majangir traditional practices, including marriage ceremony, are giving way for new intrusions. This intern results the alienation between the elders and the younkers. It thus appears crucial to record and archive the cultural practices and knowledge system of the Majangir community, with good description, for the existing and the coming generations.

<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">

<span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Keywords: <span style="font-size: 10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Majangir, traditional, wedding, wawaan

<span style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Cite this Article

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Bookman Old Style";">Getachew Anteneh, Habitamu Engidaw, Abudurahman Fantahun.
