Pattern of Diabetic Maculopathy in Patients with Diabetic Retinopathy
Abstract
Diabetic Retinopathy is a progressive long term complication of Diabetes Mellitus. It is one of the commonest causes of blindness world over. The features of diabetic maculopathy result from the abnormal permeability of the retinal capillaries and subsequent closure of the retinal capillary network. Macular edema is the accumulation of excess fluid in the extracellular space within the retina in the macular area. Diabetic Maculopathy can be various types with different complications.
