Abstract

The Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) is a low cost filter for wavelength selection and also has low insertion loss. We know that Dispersion Compensation (DC) and Power Optimization (PO) are one of the most important parameters of the optical communication system. In this proposed communication model, dispersion compensation has been achieved and also we optimized almost same power at the receiver end, also we have calculated output power for different values of fiber length for a given input power. FBG is set at 193.1 THz frequency (near to 1550 nm Bragg Wavelength). At input side the bit sequence generator, Gaussian pulse generator and Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) is used. Measurement of power is done by Optical power Meter (OPM) and dispersion is analyzed by optical time domain visualizer (OTDV).
