A Compact Pellet Drum Shape Microstrip Patch Antenna

Abstract


This paper consists of microstrip patch antenna designed with coaxial feed technique. The antenna is mainly anticipated to be used for UMTS wireless applications. The results illustrate that wide bandwidth of 33.26% is obtained covering the frequency range from 2.03 to 2.84 GHz. Next, the characteristics of the designed structure are investigated by using MoM based electromagnetic solver, IE3d. Finally, a broad analysis of the return loss, radiation pattern and gain of the proposed antenna has been studied.
