要旨

Mobile phones are small, compact, easy to use and have become an essential part of life for many people. It enables people to maintain contact with family, friends and business associates. As well as the general communication benefits, access to a mobile phone also provides safety benefits by enabling people to alert breakdown or emergency services when necessary. Talking on the phone and sending text messages while driving are obvious distractions that can lead to fatal accidents on the road. According to Indian National Crime Records Bureau at least 13 people die every hour in road accidents. Various Statistics also reveal that a large portion of road accidents in India is caused by mobile phone usage while driving. Though various measures and rules placed on mobile phone usage, still it’s highly impossible to prevent this type of occurrence. So in order to overcome this serious issue, we developed an application which will helps in reducing the number of mobile accident significantly and we further extend the research, by comparing the results obtained after installing this application with recent study of US National Safety Council, conducted on 2010. Keywords:  Cell Phone Driving Risk, Avoiding accident due to Cell phone usage, Mobile application to prevent road accidents.
