Resumé

This paper describes the heat transfer model of LiBr-H2O vapour absorption cooling system implemented in engineering equation solver (EES). The detailed first law analysis of the system is presented. Effects of operating temperature and pressure on the heat load in various components, coefficient of performance (COP), and circulation ratio of the system have been carried out. Impact of solution heat exchanger effectiveness on system performance is also studied. The study shows that COP of system increases with increasing generator and evaporator temperature. As the effectiveness of solution heat exchanger increases there is a reduction in heat load of generator and absorber and causes the improvement of COP of system. The possible solution to avoid the crystallization in LiBr-H2O vapour absorption cooling system is discussed.  Keywords: Solar absorption refrigeration system, LiBr-H2O, thermodynamic analysis
