This paper presents a new GA based model to analyze the steady state performance of the self-excited induction generator (SEIG) under unbalanced load and excitation. The proposed model is based upon the load decoupled approach using symmetrical component theory. The simulated results as obtained using proposed model are compared with experimental results on a test machine. Close agreement with the experimental results proves the effectiveness of GA based model and same is adopted to investigate the performance and operating limits of SEIG under unbalanced operation.
