AbstractAt present, the demand of natural resources is increasing trend because of the rapid growth of the construction industry. The amount of construction and demolition waste is also increasing day by day. This affects the environment very badly. To protect the environment, reuse of the construction and demolition waste (C&DW) is one of the important steps. The aim of this day is to use C&DW as recycled coarse aggregates for the production of concrete. Use of recycled coarse aggregates helps to protect natural resources and the environment. This also helps to promote sustainability in construction industry. In this experimental study, ordinary Portland cement is also replaced by Portland slag cement fully. A comparative study on the strength characteristics of Ordinary Portland Cement based and Portland Slag Cement based concrete made with recycled coarse aggregates has been presented and discussed in this paper.
