High Gain Observer and Moving Horizon Estimation for Parameters Estimation and Fault Detection of an Induction Machine: A Comparative Study
Resumen
The synthesis of a high gain observer (HGO) and moving horizon estimation (MHE) for the on-line estimation of the rotor fluxes, the rotor speed of the induction motor from the current and voltage measurements is presented. This paper presents two approaches for estimating the parameters of an induction machine during normal and faulty functionning. These approaches are based on the HGO and MHE. Simulation results show that we can identify anomalies that can occur at any moment in the full functionning such as load disturbance, power line default and rotor bar fault. In addition, the estimation results, which are validated using simulations, show that MHE provides improved estimation performance over HGO, thus, the use these estimation techniques employed for monitoring aims, detecting machine faults and highly improving the manufacture efficiency. However, the machine performance can be ameliorated in control systems by taking into account distrbances which are estimated.Keywords: High gain observer, moving horizon, estimation induction machine parametersCite this ArticleA.T.
