Abstract

The ability to fully stress analyze a pinned/bolted aluminum connector, including the contactstresses at the pin-plate interface, using measured displacement information is demonstrated. This is accomplished by using recorded data from only either one or the other of the two inplanecomponents of displacement. The relatively small pin-hole clearance results in the pincontacting the edge of the hole for an arc distance exceeding 180 degrees. Reliability ofexperimental results is supported by those of force equilibrium and FEM.Cite this ArticleVenkatesh R, Paneerselvam S,Rowlands RE.
