Simulation of Z-Source Inverter for Photovoltaic Cell Applications
Resumen
Our project is about the implementation of z-source inverter for solving shading problem. The application of photovoltaic cell normally faces the shading problem of solar light, so that it leads to inconsistent power generation and low system efficiency. Z-source inverter overcomes the conceptual and theoretical barriers and limitations of the traditional voltage source converter (abbreviated as V-source converter) and current source converter (abbreviated as I-source converter). The z-source concept can be applied to all DC-to-AC, AC-to-DC, AC-to-AC, and DC-to-DC power conversion. The z-source inverter employs unique LC network to couple the inverter main circuit. The z-source inverter provides both voltage buck and boost capabilities, which cannot be achieved with conventional voltage source and current source inverter.
