Abstract

 The present paper reviewed about the concept of green technology and its various aspects.  It also gives the bird's eye view on recent survey of green electronics carried out by the Greenpeace International, the Netherlands. The dominant electronic waste i.e. Printed Circuit Board in electronics field has been discussed and its recycling methods are reviewed to mitigate the harmful impact on environment.     Keywords: Green technology, green electronics, electronic waste, PCB recycling

    Dr. Subhash C. Arya is currently Associate Professor at Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, School of Technology, NEHU, Shillong.  Before joining NEHU, he was Assistant Professor from January 2007 to February 2010 at E & I Department, Indian School of Mine Dhanbad.  He worked as a Research Scholar on Modelling and Design of EDFA for WDM and DWDM Optical Fiber Communication System during 2004-2008 in E & I Dept, ISM Dhanbad.   Dr. Arya has also worked in Aditya Institute of Technology, Delhi as a lecturer from September 2003 to March 2004. He received PhD (Electronics Engg), B.Tech and Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering from ISM Dhanbad, G.G.S. Indraprastha University, Delhi and BTE Delhi, in the year 2009, 2003 and 2000, respectively.  He has about 24 publications in International Journals, national journal and International / National Conferences. He is a member of OSA, OSI and IEEE EDS societies.
