Abstrakt

The government of Alberta, Canada, introduced an agriculture carbon offset program in 2007 designed to encourage less intensive carbon creating farm practices that would generate offsets to be sold to the oil producing sector of Alberta at a fixed price. While the model appears to be efficient, there are a range of uncertainties not addressed in the model that raise questions about it long term benefit to farmers.Keywords: Carbon, agriculture, farmersCite this Article: Douglas Auld.
