Information, Knowledge, Education and Awareness for Sustainable Construction

In the Developed World, there is already a move to adaptation as sustainable construction and’ green’ building design, and resource efficient approaches to design and construction take precedent. Worldwide, the construction and maintenance of the built environment, consumes some 40% of the planet’s materials and 30% of its energy. The irony of the situation is that the process is happening so fast without considering sustainable measures for the construction of these buildings. There are numerous tools and techniques that can be applied to better deal with this shift from current practice to resource efficient approaches and new systems thinking within the design and construction process. Focus should be to form and train coming generations citizens that can face the sustainability problems and Construct new habits (energy saving, responsible consumption,) a new frame of mind, acquiring commitments, values for more sustainable lifestyle.
