Multi-loop Adaptive Internal Model Controller for Two Interacting Conical Tank Process
Abstract
In this paper, an adaptive multi-loop internal model control (IMC) scheme is proposed for nonlinear process. Nonlinear multivariable process is decomposed into linear single input single output process. The interaction effect and illness of each linear region is analyzed by RGA (Relative Gain Array) and singular value decomposition method (SVD). It is a matrix technique used to determine condition number of steady state plant to avoid sensitivity problem which arises due to small change of process output. In the proposed method, multiloop internal model controller is designed for two conical interacting processes. Simple generalized formula for multi loop IMC for two input two output (TITO) processes is presented. Simulation studies show the feasibility of the proposed method for the computational analysis of the nonlinear interacting process. The experimental results indicate that the developed control schemes work well. Keywords: Conical tank process, multi loop IMC control, RGA, condition numberCite this Article: U. Sabura Banu, S.K.
