Resumo

Due to better erosion resistance, strength and wear resistance, demand of nitride base coating is highly recommended for coating industry. Nitride coating is highly recommended for tribological applications due to good wear and corrosion resistance. Reactive magnetron sputtering process is an effective method for microstructural and tribological analysis. Reactive magnetron sputtering gives excellent mechanical properties such as low thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, wear resistance and higher hardness. Nitride coating with high residual stresses gives better result on brittle materials as it improves its erosion resistance. This paper reviews different coating materials at different parameters and their effect on properties of the metal. Cite this Article Bhatt Pina, Shah HN.
