Resumé

Single phase of monoclinic SrAl4O7 is synthesized by sol–gel process at a markedly lower temperature as compared to conventional solid-state reaction. The sol–gel derived samples were characterized by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and spectrofluorometer. The XRD analysis shows that the strontium aluminate has the monoclinic (α-SrA2) structure. It was demonstrated that the PL emission was obtained at 395 nm, 510 nm and 800 nm corresponding to the blue, green and IR region of the spectrum, respectively.  Keywords: SrAl4O7, nanomaterial, sol–gel, photoluminescnce, X-ray powder diffractionCite this Article Jisha VT, Suresh G.
