Review on Theoretical Background, Fabrication Techniques, Methodologies and Applications of Microfluidic Devices and Nanofluidic Devices
Resumé
In recent past, microfluidics is an outstanding and inspiring research field due to the potential applications of microfluidic devices. Microfluidic laboratory-on-a-chip systems are successfully used in mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering due to low price and easy fabrication methods. The major fabrication methods of the microfluidic devices are imprinting, hot embossing, injection molding, soft lithography, laser photo ablation, X-ray lithography and sealing. Active capillary flow and passive capillary flow are very popular phenomena as motion of fluid in microfluidic devices. Microfluidic devices are heavily used as cell separators and immunoassays. Nanofluidic devices are the advancement of microfluidic devices. Keywords: Microfluidic devices, fabrication, wettability, nanofluidics Cite this Article Subhadeep Mukhopadhyay, JP Banerjee.
