要旨

The present paper describes a simple and eco-friendly chemical method of lanthanum oxide or lanthania (La2O3) nanoparticles by the solution combustion synthesis based on urea. The fuel urea is varied for different fuel to oxidizer ratios (F/O) or Ψ = 0.5 to 1.5 in the steps of 0.25. The average crystallite size of La2O3 nanoparticles was estimated from the full width half maximum of the X-ray diffraction peaks of powders using Scherer’s formula. Particle size is estimated using Brumauer Emmett Teller (BET) analysis. Thermal analysis was done by thermal gravimetric-differential thermal analyzer and results obtained. The morphological studies were carried out with SEM and AFM.
