A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Structural Teaching Program on Knowledge Regarding Alcoholism among G.N.M. 2nd Year Students at Selected Nursing School
Abstract
quasi-experimental study was conducted to assess the knowledge regarding alcoholism among nursing students of Sikar, Rajasthan. A sample comprising 60 students was selected and purposive sampling technique was used. The tools used for data collection were structured knowledge questionnaires. Data analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings of study reveal that majority of students 60% in experimental and 46.67% in control group were in the age group of 21–22 years of age and with regard to gender with 66.67% in experimental and 80% in control group of the students were females. Knowledge of the students ranged between 1 and 25 and mean knowledge score of students was found to be in pre-test 7.76 and in post-test 18.63 in experimental group while knowledge score of control group students was found to be in pre-test 7.033 and in post-test 7.86. Significant association was observed between levels of knowledge of students with regard to their age, gender, area of residence, monthly family income and type of family.Keywords: alcoholism, structural teaching program, nursing studentsDownloads
