Developing a Program on Nursing Information System for Computer Generated Nursing Care Plan – Doctoral Study Pilot Report

The nursing care plans are considered to be the road map of nursing care activities and outcome of the client care but they have been neglected many years in the area of practice by nursing community especially in developing countries like India, due to multiple reasons such as time consuming, difficulty in manual updating of the information received, and reluctant to follow the nursing process. To develop a nurse friendly nursing information system for computer generated nursing care plan for selected medical conditions. An explorative approach and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology has been adopted to develop the system. Alpha testing was carried out to validate the system performance using the written case scenarios and the system has been modified and will be tested during the beta testing phase.Keywords: nursing care plan, nursing information system, Data Base, SQL (Structured Query Language), alpha testingPubblicato
