Abstrakt

Managed pressure drilling (MPD) is an adaptive pressure drilling technique, which is preferably used in matured oil fields. This brings in the various issues of matured fields which can be easily managed by the MPD. Paper presents the mind map which can be used for further development of this technique. Further, it also presents the parametric mathematical modeling of MPD which can be used for adaptive control and demonstration. Four different index numbers are proposed to take into account of formation, viscosity, flow and pressure. Keywords: Managed pressure drilling, Modeling, Parametric, Bottom hole pressure, Rate of penetration, Mud weight, Non-productive time
