Regenerative Medicine: Areas of Opportunities and Inter-related Challenges
Resumen
Regenerative medicine and Human tissue engineering are the emerging fields in medicine. The concept of regenerative medicine is a promising multidisciplinary field to develop the way to advance the health and quality of life by restoring, maintaining or enhancing tissue and functions of the organs. They are such biomaterials that will provide the self-repairing of the damaged tissues and it assures for the improved treatment for the patients, faster recovery of the damaged tissue. The aim of regenerative medicine is to repair healthy function to organs damaged due to disease or aging. An important issue for successful regenerative medicine applications is the source from which the cells are harvested and whether the intended use is tissue replacement, repair, or regeneration.
