The number of adult losing their natural teeth is decreasing; there are still large numbers of edentulous adults in the population. A retrospective study was conducted with information derived from literature (from 1995 till 2010) about the patients who were experiencing ongoing difficulties with new complete dentures, and to find out possible causes. Relationships were observed when denture construction or design faults were compared with patient complaints and the advised solution of the problem. This study suggests that most of the time, complete denture patients present with complaints only when there is real design fault. The clinician must carefully evaluate the denture for complaints.
