Abstract

principle of goverence... The private sector share in India is astonishing 78 percent in urban areas and 71 percent in rural areas… The public funded Rashtriya Swasth Beema Yojana gives more than 80 percent of their reimbursement to private sectors… Poverty caused by health is doubled in India in the past 15 years. Out – of – pocket health expenditure is 6.8 percent of house – hold resources and 12.1 percent expenditure of non-food expenditure in 2011 -2012. (Shah Alam Khan in Indian Express on September 30, 206 pg. 11) Nurses are the heart of the health care delivery system, now and in future the profession is of great importance to politicians, policy makers, the general public and the nursing profession. However this needed profession is never given its due that is its right.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The Government / Union Government and State Governments should stress the value building and supporting of nursing work force, quality care and patient outcomes. Every year we hear about patients, children and new born dying in government hospitals due to poor quality care.
