要旨

The term adolescence refers “to emerge” or “achieve identity” is a new concept, in development thinking. Universally, the age group of 10–19 years is thought to be the time of preadulthood. It is obvious that in India, age cutoff points of youths have been settled distinctively under various projects keeping in view the targets of that approach or program. For instance, young people in the draft Youth Policy have been characterized as the age amass between 13–19 years; under the ICDS program juvenile young ladies are thought to be between 11–18 years; the Constitution of India and work laws of the nation consider individuals up to the age of 14 as children; though the Reproductive and Child Health Program notices young people as being between 10–19 years old. Keeping in view the attributes of this age group, it is generally felt and suggested that it would be most suitable to consider youths as between 10–19 years old. In any case, a generally acknowledged meaning of the idea has not been built up.Keywords: Adolescents, health, education, childhood, puberty
