Abstrakt

Activity of acid phosphatase and alkaline phosphatase in the leaves of medicinally important plant Basella alba with respect to its two cultivars under water deficit and water logging stress was estimated. It was recorded that the activity of both the phosphatases increased with increase in water stresses with single exception. The increased activities probably help in release of inorganic phosphates at intracellular level that might regulate proper plant metabolism which helps the plant to cope with the water stress situations.  Keywords: Basella alba, acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, water stress Cite this Article Deshmukh Sagar A, Gaikwad DK.
