Abstrakt

Chhattisgarh is a fairly new state, carved out of Madhya Pradesh in the year 2000. As the state was struggling with provision of basic health services, Infection control and Biomedical waste Management, till now remained an ignored and neglected part of the health system. The state, after achieving a satisfactory position in terms of provision of services is now moving towards its goal to provide quality services to the patients along with proper employee safety. The present paper focuses on Study of the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices of Biomedical waste management among various categories of staff working in the public hospitals of Chhattisgarh, thus assessing the gaps and identifying the areas of improvement which will form the basis for development of strategies and policy decisions for improving the status of biomedical waste management in the state.
