Resumé

Occupational risks associated with any industry can be categorized as physical injury, mental illness and medical illness. Occupational exposures can have multiple effects on lungs and it largely depends on the type, amount and acuity of exposure and baseline medical condition of the worker. Accidents, pneumoconiosis, musculoskeletal injuries, other lung disease are considered some of the major occupational risks. Workers in the field need to be educated about these conditions and the risks associated with the occupation. This will probably help in improving compliance with existing laws.
