A Study on Effect of Season on Blood Urea and Serum Creatinine in Different Prakriti (Constitution) Individuals

Resumo

 Ayurveda is one of the important medical sciences helping the mankind since antiquity. Ayuveda has preventive as well as curative aspects and emphasizes mostly on preventive aspect. Ayurveda mentions diet, activities and treatment according to different personalities (prakriti) and seasons to maintain the health in healthy individuals and to treat the diseased persons. In recent times, physiological variations according to season are well accepted, but there is a lack of research to explain the seasonal variations according to different prakriti. The present study shows the changes in blood urea and serum creatinine in different seasons in healthy individuals taking prakriti into consideration. It indicates the role of body humors in various seasons and constitutions. Physiological functions are dependent on the state of body humors; their aggravation, accumulation and pacification greatly influences on normal body functions. Hence, one should adopt proper diet and life style and simultaneously undergo purificatory procedure as per the season. The present study shows certain changes in blood urea and serum creatinine in different seasons and constitutions. It proves the variations of physiological functions in different seasons and constitutions.
