Biochemical Characterization of Mutant Strains and Cloning of Lactate Dehydrogenase Gene from Staphylococcus aureus
Abstrakt
An infection is the detrimental colonization of a host organism by a foreign species. About 15 million (>25%) of 57 million annual deaths worldwide are estimated to be related directly to infectious diseases. The burden of morbidity (ill health) and mortality associated with infectious diseases falls most heavily on people in developing countries and particularly on infants and children diseases. Infectious diseases are the second leading cause of death; the leading cause of disability-adjusted life years worldwide; and the third leading cause of death in the United States. Among infectious diseases which are causing death worldwide, acute lower respiratory tract infections (24%), HIV/ acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) (23%), diarrheal diseases (17%), tuberculosis (9%), and malaria (12%) are predominant.
