Resumen

Venepuncture is the most commonly invasive procedure in hospitals. Intravenous (IV) cannulation is the second most in procedure for patients in hospital. Today 85–95% of all hospitalised receive IV’s in one form or another. They are associated with a range of complications that can be damaging to patients’ health and increase healthcare costs.
