Resumen

Arsenic, a metalloid is distributed throughout the surface of the earth. It has various oxidation states, most common being +3 and +5. It is a highly toxic element and is often found in groundwater and contaminated drinking water and can enter the body through various routes like ingestion, absorption and inhalation. Arsenic toxicity can be both acute as well as chronic and can lead to several diseases of the human body.
