Resumé

This paper presents the results of an experimental study correlating the bulk density of agglomerated fluxes during submerged arc welding on weld penetration and flux consumption. The basic constituents of these fluxes are CaO, SiO2, and Al2O3. Minor additions of MgO, MnO, CaF2, NiO and Fe-Cr are mixed in the basic constituents for improving techno-mechanical and physical properties of the weld metal. Keywords: Submerged arc welding, agglomerated flux, flux consumption, weld bead penetration
