Resumo

Relatively there are considerable numbers of people who are unable to walk freely due to oneor the other problems in their legs. There are numerous types of wheelchairs available in the market; however there are various difficulties for the patients in using the manual wheelchair. Hence, there is a scope to understand the patients’ requirements and design the wheelchair as per the patients’ needs by the ethnographic and ergonomics research. Option would be to improve the function of wheelchairs with the help of ethnographic research by the inputs given by various patients, users, attendants and doctors in problems identifications and solving problems of wheelchairs. The main objective is to design the wheel chair based on ergonomic consideration which gives comfort to the user and to carry out the analysis for the wheel chair for different materials and obtain the efficient material with minimum weight. Cite this ArticleChandrakant Kulkarni, AbhijitDandavate, Maheshwar MC.
