Electrical Tunability of Transmission Spectrum in 1D Ternary Photonic Band Gap Structures
Résumé
Electrical tunability of transmission spectrum in 1D Ternary Photonic Band Gap (PBG) structures is studied in this paper. The electro-optic effect can be used to change the refractive index of the constituent material layers of the structure to tune the transmission spectrum. Use of electrical tuning in PBG structure offers the advantages of fast tuning speed, ease of computer controllability etc. The electro-optic effect based tuning will be faster than thermal or chemical tuning used in PBG structures. Keywords: Photonic band gap (PBG), Pockels effect, optical transmission matrix theory, 1D binary structure, 1D ternary PBG structures Cite this Article Anirudh Banerjee.
