A Comparative Study of Structure, Morphology and Optical Properties of CaAl2O4 Phosphors by Sol–Gel Method
Abstract
In this paper, monoclinic CaAl2O4 phosphor with different weight percentage of aluminium was synthesized by low temperature sol–gel method. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Fourier transform infra red (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and photoluminescence emission spectra (PL). The XRD analysis showed that CaAl2O4 have monoclinic structure. The average size of the particles lies between 88 and 109 nm. It was found that PL emission was obtained at 395 nm, 510 nm,790 nm corresponding to blue, green and IR region of the spectrum, respectively.
