The Role of Nanotechnology in Waste Water Treatment to Solve Water Crises in India

Seema Dwivedi

Abstract

Currently worldwide water crisis problems have globalized at a very faster frequency due to the population overgrowth and some major environmental issues. Traditional technologies have shown negative result against these problems. Implementation of advanced technology like nanotechnology and its innovative tools like nanomaterials, nanometals, nanoadsorbents and photocatalysis could overcome this problem and can help in waste water treatment and water purification but there are certain problems arising due to this advanced technology such as ethical issues, potential health hazards and ecotoxicity. Though this technology is quite advanced and helpful in the water application but it also follows certain strict laws and regulations. The positive effects of this technology when compared to traditional technology; as well as the technical defaults are summarized.
