Biography

Prof. Shailendra K. Saxena is the Professor and Head of the Centre for Advance Research (CFAR), King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow in India. His main research interest is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of host defense during human viral infections, including oncogenic viruses, therapeutics with stem cells and cell cultures. He has received many awards and honors including the Fogarty International Center, NIH (USA) MERIT Award, and named as “Global Leader in Science” by The Scientist magazine (USA) and “International Opinion Leader / Expert” involved in the vaccination for JE by IPIC (UK).

Dr. Mebrahtu G/Yohannes is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Pharmacy and Biomedical Science at the University of Gondar. He received his DVM Degree in 2009 from Hawassa University and earned his Master’s Degree from university of Gondar in 2013 then worked as a Lecturer and Researcher in University of Gondar for 5 Years. He/she is having five Years of Experience in the field of Veterinary Medicine. His Area of Expertise includes: Medical Biotechnology.

Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadava is a Professor in Molecular Biology at the School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University . He received his Ph.D. Degree in Botany from Banaras Hindu University in 1976 and earned his postdoctoral from JNU (New Delhi), IISc (Bangalore) and ETH (Zurich) before becoming Associate Professor (1990-) and Professor (1998-) in Life Sciences, JNU. He then worked as a Visiting Professor in ETH (Zurich) Institute/ for one semester. He is having 38 Years (cumulative) of Experience in the field of Cyanobacterial Genetics, Plant-Microbe Interaction, Recombinant RNA replicons, Measles virus reverse genetics. His Area of interest for the past 25 years includes Constructing RNA tools (ribozymes, shRNA and RNA aptamers) targeted against molecules of therapeutic relevance.He is the author of 25 research articles recipient of Research Grants from UGC, DBT, DST, ICMR, CSIR , etc.

Prof. Ashish Runthala is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science University.He earned his postdoctoral M.E. Biotechnology from the same university in 2008. He is having 6.5 years of Experience in the field of Bioinformatics. Area of Expertise includes: Protein Structure, Bioinformatics and Evolutionary Biology.He is the author of 10 papers, 4 Chapters and 7 conference publications.

Saber Mohamed Abd-Allah is Associate Professor in the Theriogenology Department of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Beni-Suef University, Egypt.He received his Ph.D. Degree in Theriogenology from Cairo University in 2003 and earned his postdoctoral Fellowship from Institute of Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of Chinese Academy of Sciences then worked as Associate professor in Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Beni-Suef University for Five Years. He is having Sixteen Years of Experience in the field of Animal Biology and Biotechnology. His Area of Expertise includes: Animal Biology, Reproductive Sciences, Theriogenology, Stem Cell Cultures, Stem cell Differentiation, Neural Development, In Vitro Fertilization, Embryo Cryopreservation and Embryo Transfer.He is the author of 35 Published papers in International Journals and Edited Five Book. In addition to his publications, Dr. Saber Abd-Allah is a well popular speaker at national & international scientific & professional meetings. He was awarded a CV RAMAN International Fellowship for African Researchers in 2012. He is the Founder and Chairman of Reproductive Biology and Genetics Society (RBGS), IACSIT, Singapore and also involved in Over Hundred International Associations and Societies.

Dr. Satpal Singh Bisht is an inspiring Professor and Researcher in the field of Life Sciences since 20 years. Dr. Satpal Singh Bisht, is an internationally acclaimed Biologist / academician and an Administrator. He Completed his Doctoral Degree in the year 1992 from Kumaun University, Nainital Uttarakhand, India .He has published many research papers and articles in the journals of international repute i.e. Biology Fertility of Soils, Applied Soil Ecology, Pedobiologia, European Journal of Soil Biology, Tropical Ecology and many others journals, Visited many countries on academic assignments. Dr. Bisht is a member of various academic bodies of many Universities & Colleges, editor & reviewer of many journals, nominated and received many professional awards from many academic organizations. Dr. Bisht presently is working as Professor & Head at the P.G. Department of Biotechnology, Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur India.

Baishnab Charan Tripathy received BSc and MSc degrees from Utkal University, after which he joined Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and worked under the supervision of Professor Prasanna Mohanty. Thereafter, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Ohio State University, Columbus (1981-83) where he worked on bioenergetics of choloroplast and mitochondria and then at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (1984-87) where he worked on heterogeneity of chlorophyll biosynthesis. Subsequently, he worked for National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Kennedy Space Centre, Florida and worked on space-grown plants and studied the effect of zero gravity on photosynthesis, plant growth and development. On returning to India in 1987, he joined Faculty of the School of Life Sciences, JNU, started his Photobiology Laboratory there and initiated both teaching and research programs in plant physiology and photobiology. He continues to work as Professor at JNU.

Dr M V Jagannadham is a senior Principal Scientist at the CSIR- Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad. He received his Ph. D degree from life sciences from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi through CCMB in 1998 and obtained post doctoral training from Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan from 1999-2000. He returned to CCMB and continued to work as a scientist. He has 25 years of research experience in biological sciences. His area of expertise includes Protein Chemistry, Biological Mass spectrometry and Microbiolgy. He is an author of 45 research publication in internationally reputed scientific journals. He received research and travel grants form DST, DBT, CSIR, New Delhi, I-SERVE, Hyderabad and Centre for International Co-operation in Science(CICS), Chennai. He received Bharat Jyothi award from India International friendship Society, New Delhi in 2014 and Eminent Mass spectrometrist award from Indian Society for Mass spectrometry in 2015.

Dr. J. Francis Borgio is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetic Research at the Institute for Research and Medical Consultations (IRMC), University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia. He is a member of IRMC Main Council, University of Dammam. He is a Deputy Chairman and a member of managing committee, International Indian School Dammam (IISD), one of the biggest school in the Gulf with 18500 students. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Microbiology from Manonmanium Sundaranar University, Tamil Nadu, India. Then worked as an Assistant Professor in Dept. of Microbiology, St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, for 3 Years. He is having 11 Years of Experience in the field of Molecular Biology. His Area of Expertise includes: Molecular Genetics, Hemoglobinopathies. He is an author of a book (edited over 1000 pages), and more than 30 research papers in high impact journals. He reviewed over 100 research articles in modern biology for various journals including Blood Reviews and Clinical Genetics. Borgio currently conducts research in networks of genetic modifiers in HbF elevation and borderline HbA2 in transfusion dependent and transfusion independent thalassemia subjects. He has completed 8 projects funded by KACST and DSR, University of Dammam. He is a Principle Investigator or Co-investigator for 5 small and 3 major ongoing funded research projects. He was trained as a molecular biologist at National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), CSIR, Lucknow and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, India. He has organized/participated in more than 20 conferences world over, either as a chairperson of the sessions or as a participant. He has been a member of the editorial board for several international journals. He has been an external Ph.D examiner for various Universities, including Anna University, Chennai, India. He is a recipient of various Fellowships, Grants and Awards.
