Biography

Dr. Arti Gupta is the HOD of Pharmacognosy Department at Uka Tarsadia University. She received her Ph.D. Degree in pharmaceutical science from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Surat, Gujarat, India in 2013. Then worked as assistant professor in Maliba Pharmacy College/Uka Tarsadia University for 2006. She is having eight Years of Experience in academic. Her Area of Expertise includes: Herbal formulation, HPTL, Hepatoprotective activity, Plant Pharmacognosy.

Dr. Amita Verma is Associate Professor in the Department of Christian School of Health Sciences in Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Allahabad, India. She has completed her Ph.D from Hamdard University in 2007. She has published seven papers in national, three papers in an international journal and four papers in conferences. She has qualified GATE.

Dr. Bharat Bhusan Subudhi is Associate Professor in Pharmaceutical Analysis and QA Department of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Siksha O Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Pharmacy from Utkal University in 2008. He is having 12 Years of Experience in the field of Pharmaceutical chemistry and analysis. His Area of Expertise includes: Medicinal chemistry, Pharmanalysis.

Dr. Nishikant A. Raut is an Assistant Professor (Sr. Gr.) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur in 2010. He is working in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur since last 11 years. He is having12 Years of Experience in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences and his Area of Expertise includes Natural Products, Medicinal Plants, Phyto-pharmaceuticals, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Stability Studies of Pharmaceuticals. He has good number of publications in national and international journals to his credit. He has received research grants of lakhs of rupees from Department of Biotechnology and Science and Engineering Research Board (Statutory Body under the Ministry of Science and Technology), Govt. of India.

Mahesh Rao is a Scientist at National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology, Pusa Campus, New Delhi. He belongs to Village Tetaria of district Kushinagar, U.P., a HOLY place for BUDDHIST. Currently, he is working on Brassica species to enhance the productivity using molecular and tissue culture approach. He is Pursuing Ph.D (Ag.) from Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University; Varanasi. He has published five papers in national journals. He attended about 15 Seminar/Symposia/Training programs. He has qualified ICAR-NET in Crop Improvement, 2009 & 2010. He has been selected for ICAR-SRF 2009-2010 for admission in PhD organized by ICAR, New Delhi. He qualified for ICAR-ARS (Indian Council of Agricultural Sciences - Agricultural Research Services) in 2010 and joined ICAR in 2011.

Dr. Sridevi Chigurupati is a Senior lecturer in the pharmaceutical chemistry, Department of Pharmacy at the AIMST University, Malaysia.She received his/her Ph.D. Degree in pharmaceutical sciences from JNTU University in 2012. She worked as an associate professor in Geethanjali College of pharmacy / JNTU University for 8 Years. She is having 10 Years of Experience in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry, synthetic and medicinal chemistry. Her Area of Expertise includes: Synthesizing new chemical entities, Drug designing, QSAR and molecular modeling, Evaluating synthesized products using analytical techniques like IR, NMR and Mass spectroscopy, Screening the new compounds for various pharmacological activities. She is a Life time member in Indian Pharmacists Graduate Association, “IPGA”. Received BEST ORAL PRESENTATION award for the title “Synthesis and Pharmacological Activity of Novel Heterocyclic Compounds”, at 1st International science congress held, at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Qualified in "GATE 2003" Received AICTE Scholarship. Received Merit certificate for securing top score during B.Pharmacy also received merit scholarship from BSNL, INDIA. Present projects: Synthesis of novel indolo phenoxy acetic acid pyrazoline derivatives and pharmacological evaluation for their anti-hyperglycemic activity. (Sponsored by AIMST University, Malaysia) and Exploring quantitative structure activity relationship of some anti-HIV agents. (Sponsored by AIMST University, Malaysia).

 

Dr. Anita Mahapatra is a Professor in the Department of Natural Products at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research-Ahmedabad. She worked at Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar and received his/her Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha in 2001 and earned his/her postdoctoral from University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa. Then worked as a Scientist (Fellow) in Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar for 2 & ½ Years. She is having ~20 Years of Experience in the field of Natural Product Chemistry, Semisynthesis and Herbal drug standardization. Her Area of Expertise includes: Development of new chemical entities as bioactive leads, Isolation of bioactive leads from natural sources and phytochemical standardization of herbal drugs.

Dr. Muthyala Murali Krishna Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, AU College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He received his Ph.D.Degree in the chemistry of natural products from Andhra University in 2006.After a brief stint as a lecturer at BITS Pilani, Rajasthan, he joined in Andhra University. He is having more than 10 years of experience in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry. His Area of Expertise includes: Chemistry of natural products (marine and terrestrial), rational drug design. He has authored 21 research articles and 1 book chapter. He has received grants from CSIR, AICTE and UGC.

Dr. George Geromichalos is currently head in Cell Culture Molecular Modeling & Drug Design Dept. of Symeonidion Research Center, Theagenion Cancer Hospital at Thessaloniki, Greece. He received Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry and Quantum Chemistry in 2003 from Faculty of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His areas of research include research & development of new drugs with improved toxicity pattern, increased anticancer activity and better selectivity, through modifying the structure of known functional molecules, study of signal transduction pathways and their relation to cytotoxicity or apoptosis. He has authored and co-authored over 44 peer-reviewed journal articles and over 190 conference papers. He is a member of 5 professional associations and is currently an editorial board member of 5 Open Journals. He has received various awards and honors for his research work. He has contributed in the organization of various workshop/conferences and has delivered 18 lectures and oral presentations and been invited in the studio of many TV and radio broadcast programs to present a variety of scientific topics.

Dr. K.R. Arya is Principal Scientist, Botany Division, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow (U.P.), India. He is having 15 years Research Experience in Natural products and 10 years in Plant tissue culture.He is a patent owner for Novel Flavonol compounds, A bioactive extract/fraction from Ulmus wallichiana and its compounds for prevention for treatment of osteo-health related disorders. He has filed 4 patents and has number of National and International Publications. He has received Ptechnology Awards & Achievements for Compound K058, K012, K068, K0100 (Rapid bone fracture Healing agents) Licensed to Kemxtree USA for product development. His current areas of research are Ethno botanical survey, Taxonomical identification of medicinal plants, documentation and bio prospecting of ethno botanical leads. Collection of medicinal plant samples as per the priorities areas of the institute and isolation, identification & characterization of bioactive molecules for modern therapeutics. Pharmacological investigation for the development of quality control measures for crude samples identification. Chemical fingerprinting of important medicinal plants for identification of bioactive marker using DART MS/Q TOF LCMS/HRMS techniques. Validation of traditional knowledge through scientific investigations. Sustainable management and conservation of medicinal plant biodiversity. Various aspects of plant cell and tissue culture technology for scale up production of secondary metabolites

Dr. Maushmi S. Kumar is an Assistant Professor in School of Pharmacy and Technology Management, NMIMS Deemed-to-be University. She completed her B.Pharm at VNS Institute of Pharmacy (Bhopal, Rajiv Gandhi Technical University) 1999-2003; M.Tech at Institute of Chemical Technology (Formerly UDCT), Mumbai, 2004-2006; Doctoral in Applied Zoology from Mangalore University and Research centre at Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, 2010- 2014.She has worked as Senior Executive, Process Engineering Lab (Alembic Ltd), Vadodara from August, 2009- June 2009. She has received DBT Fellowship for M.Tech as a Junior Research Fellow. She has also received distinguished paper award at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand at International conference in Innovations in Food and bioprocess Technology. She is a life time Member of Registered Pharmacist at Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council, Mumbai and marine Biological Association of India, Kochi. Her research areas/interests: Marine Biotechnology, Fermentation and microbial production of secondary metabolites, Downstream processing of bioactives from microbial/natural sources. Publications: International–12; National–2, Conference (Oral presentation) - 2, Proceedings-2, Book -1, Book Chapter-1.

Dr. Parasuraman is a Senior Lecture in the Unit of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy of AIMST University, Malaysia. He received his Ph.D., Degree in 2012 from Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry. Then worked as a Senior Research Fellow, in JIPMER for 1.5 Years. He/she is having 10 Years of Experience in the field of experimental and clinical pharmacology. Her/his Area of Expertise includes: Pharmacokinetics, Toxicity studies, Environmental toxicity, Behavioral pharmacology, Cardiovascular Pharmacological screening, etc. He is the editor of Journal of Young Pharmacist and Journal of Pharmaceutical Negative result.

Dr. P. R. Itankar is an Assistant Professor (Sr. Gr.) and section head of Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry at Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, India. He has more than 18 years of teaching, industrial and research experience to his credit. He has published around 27 research articles in prestigious National and International Journals. He did his B. Pharm., M. Pharm. in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry. He has done his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in the faculty of Medicine. He also did PG Diploma in Naturopathy and Yogic Science. He has one reference book to his credit. Two students have completed and 08 students are pursuing PhD under his guidance. His research interest specially lies in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, isolation of secondary metabolites, standardization of natural products, chromatography and spectral studies of natural products, organic cultivation of medicinal plants, Biotransformation studies, and evaluation of natural products for various pharmacological potential and promotion of herbal medicines.

Dr Pratap Kumar Sahu is Associate Professor in the Pharmacology Department of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Siksha O Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar. He received his Ph.D.Degree in Pharmacy from Utkal University in 2007 and earned his postgraduation from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi in 2001. He is having 13 Years of Experience in the field of Pharmacology. His Area of Expertise includes: Neuropharmacology, Metabolic disorders.

Dr. Rekha R. Shenoy is an Associate professor, Department of Pharmacology, Sai Radha Aashraya Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal University, Manipal. She completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Manipal. She is having 11 years of UG and 8 years of PG teaching experience. Her area of interest lies in Pharmacology of wound healing and role of antioxidants on healing status, Inflammatory disorders and colon cancer. She is having total 14 publications and presented 27 research papers in conferences and workshops. She is a recipient of Career Award for Young Teachers [CAYT] award 2013-14 from AICTE, New Delhi and also received the SWCR (The Society for Wound Care and Research) best paper award in the oral session, for her paper titled, “Effects of Morin, Dehydrozingerone and Sesamol in normal and dexamethasone depressed dead space wounds in albino rats” in the First International Meet And Fourth Annual National Conference Of SWCR (WOUND CARE CON 2010), organized by Department of Plastic Surgery, KMC, Manipal University, Manipal on September 3-5, 2010 at Fortune Inn Valley View, Manipal.

Dr. (Prof). Sapna Shrikumar, Principal of Moulana College of Pharmacy, Angadippuram P.O., Perinthalmanna, received her Ph. D Degree in “Pharmaceutical Sciences” from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University at Chennai, Tamil Nadu state. She is Professor of Department of Phytochemistry and Pharmacognosy. She is having 20 years of experience in the field of teaching and guiding several PG projects related with Pharmacognstic, Phytochemical, Formulation development and standardization by Analytical methods. Her area of Expertise includes: - Herbal Standardization, qualitative & quantitative analysis of drugs using instrumental methods, Phytochemical studies, isolation and characterization of compounds. She has received the three paper awards in the International and national conferences. She has guided more than 25 PG projects which has obtained Scholarships from the Tamil Nadu Welfare Fund Association, Government of India and Department of Ayurveda - NSTMIS

Dr. N. Silvia is a Professor in the Pharmacognosy Department of Shri Vishnu College of Pharmacy, Bhimavaram. She received her Ph.D. Degree in Pharmacognosy from Andhra University in 2013. She is having 13 Years of Experience in the field of Pharmacognosy. Her Area of Expertise includes: Pharmacognostic standardization of medicinal plants, Phytochemical and pharmacological screening of medicinal plants.

Dr. Snigdha Pattnaik is an Associate Professor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SOA Deemed University, India. She completed Ph.D. (Pharmaceutics) from Maharaja Sayaji Rao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, India (2008). Her Research areas: Pharmacognostic characterization and evaluation of different plant parts, Formulation development, Physico-chemical Characterisation, In-vitro In-vivo evaluation, In-vitro In-vivo correlation, Anti-microbial activity evaluation, Wound healing activity of formulation, Radiographic study of both standard and sample and their comparison, etc. She received University Research fellowship of M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat and Research Fellowship under the “National Doctoral Fellowship” scheme of AICTE. She has 19 Scientific Research and Publications and 9 National and 49 Conference Proceedings and Presentations. Her Fields of Research interest: Pharmacognostical characterization, evaluation and activity establishment, Formulation Development, Dosage form designing and their evaluation, Confirmation of In-vitro data using Radiography study, Characterization, Fractionation, Isolation of active plant extract using analytical techniques like IR, NMR, Gas and Mass spectroscopy.

Dr. Sugato Banerjee is Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology Division of Pharmacology and Clinical Research at the Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi. He received his Ph.D. Degree in 2009 from University of Nebraska Medical Center, Nebraska USA. Worked as post-doctoral fellow at University of California San Diego USA from 2009-11. Then worked as an Associate Professor at Gupta College of Technological Sciences from 2011-12 and current working as Assistant Professor at BIT Mesra for last 2 yrs. He/she is having 10 Years of Experience in the field of Neuropharmacolology and Molecular Neuroscience. His area of Expertise includes: Neuropathogenesis of AIDS, Diabetes associated neurological and neurocognitive complications, CNS active natural compounds etc.

 

Dr. Subhash C Mandal is currently in the Dept. of Pharm. Tech. Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. He Secured 3rd rank in M. Pharm Examination 1993, recipient of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 1991) fellowship and West Bengal state fellowship to carry out PhD program at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India,1995.He was awarded Fast Track Young Scientist by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (2003) for research in Indian traditional medicine and Science & Technology, World Bank, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Dept of Biotechnology, Government of India for research in Indian medicinal plants.He has Obtained three Indian patents (Patent No. 186599 of 1999, Patent No. 207089 of 2007 and Patent No. 244689 of 2010) on isolation of bioactive natural molecules. Three Patents more are in the pipeline. He had published 163 research papers in peer reviewed international journals and 37 research papers in national journals.

Dr. Surash Ramanathan is currently working as an Associate Professor in centre for Drug Research, Universiti Sains Malaysia, He has obtained my first degree in BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology(1990) from National Universiti Of Malaysia. Later he obtained his PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysiua ( 1996) After my WHO/DNDI affilated post Doctoral fellowship , He first joined the Centre for Drug Research, USM in 1999 as a research fellow. His core area of research is analytical chemistry and its application in preclinical and clinical studies related to tropical medicine. He had worked on several novel analytical methods for assay of anti malarial and its application in preclinical and clinical studies. His experience working with WHO and / Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), Geneva, Switzerland as counterparts has made me gain recognition in the area of analytical chemistry and its application in preclinical and clinical studies related to tropical medicine.
