Dr. B. K. Konwar is a Professor (on Deputation) in the Department of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Tezpur University, Napaam, Tezpur, Assam, India ; Presently Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University (Central), HQ: Lumami, Dist. Zunheboto, Nagaland, India . He received his Ph. D. Degree in Plant Biotechnology and DIC in Micrbial Genetics from University of London in 1992. Then worked as an Associate Proffessor in Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam for 03 Years, with a total of 11 years; Tocklai Experimental Station, Tea Research Association, Jorhat, Assam for 08 years; 09 years in Tezpur University, Assam. He is having 27 Years of Experience in the field of Biotechnology. His Area of Expertise includes: Plant Genetic Engineering, Metaganomics, Biosurfactant & Biopolymer, Biofuel and Phytomedicines. He is the author of 02 books, 04 booklets/chapters, 103 published research papers in international/national journals, 41 proceedings publications, and 81 research paper abstracts. He is the recipient of 12 Major Research Grants from ICAR, DBT, Tea Board, Ministry of Commerce, NMPB, ONGC etc. He and his scholars deposited 10 DNA sequences in Gene Banks; 11 scholars so far completed and 03 pursuing Ph D under his Supervision. Prof. Konwar received 06 different awards.
